I'll let you know what I find. To bypass, disconnect the switch and run a wire direct into the EHC?switch can be jumped or bypassed using test clips or wire. Switches, connectors and bare wires can all cause this condition. Check everything first, then replace if needed.

So, the power to operate the light is coming from the dimmer switch? :loony:Unplug and jump wire to wire on control wiring connectors, not to ehc.

I don't know if there is +12V at the switch on an '03 or not. Measure for voltages prior to removal ...or.. check continuity between connectors on switch with no power. I'm gonna look for a schematic of your system. So, the power to operate the light is coming from the dimmer switch? :loony:
Thanks!
And yes, depending on the day, Covington is "The Depths".

Thanks Dead. I've got the book on my '05 but Rocky has not made the effort to get one for her bike.........guess she's waiting on me.I don't know if there is +12V at the switch on an '03 or not. I'll check voltage and continuity on the dimmer switch wires. I'm outa here for now. On my way home. I'll check for a reply when I get home. No hurry!
About a 2 hour commute. Later. The switch is just a manual either/or switch!
Red- to Low Beam
Blue- from Headlight Relay
White- to High Beam
That relay could also be your issue too.
Do you need a copy of the schematic?

When we got the bikes back in February, we took them to the BD dealership in Baton Rouge and had both bikes tuned up, dynoed and jetted. When was the last tune up on the 03?

I'm about 3 hours out of Pensacola. Jake said the '03 EHC was "plug and play", so I'm hoping this is just a one beer job.How far are you from Pensacola? I could hold your beer for ya or sumfin?![]()
When the EHC on the '05 craps out, and you know it will, you'll be getting a personal invitation for that job. LDO, didn't you replace your EHC?No worries, let me know, i didn't know we were that close or I'd have invited myself over a long time ago!:lol:I'm about 3 hours out of Pensacola.
