Glad to see you getting back to work on that sled. I’m sure Knothead or Shannon will know that for sure. Be great to hear about you getting back on the road! Cheers!

I looked it up and it says 7/16x14x 3/4, so imma give it a shot and see what what… but yeah so bought a brand new Harley the other day and the wife hopped on the back and said nothing compares to dally! It’s time to get her back up and going and I surely do agree, I have owned about 20 bikes and rode about 100 and nothing is as comfortable as my dally. My buddy just had his k9 here and it has factory bars and all that and factory engine and mine is so much more comfortable

And what kinda fluid these trannys take?!? Ya know I have been through this engine twice and never touched the tranny because if it ain’t broke don’t fix it motto! ‍♂
I use RevTech 80/90 HP Transmission Lube. So many different thoughts on that particular subject. My Ironhorse when I bought it had Red Line gear oil in the transmission. Not a big fan. All 4 have the RevTech now.

So riddle me this, both bolts came out that connect the inner primary to the engine and both bolts on the outside loose. I can wiggle the whole trans and primary back and forth. Don’t get it… but it’s something I have never even put a wrench on since I had it, guess last time I had the primary off I shoulda checked them! image.jpgimage.jpg

Yeah Curtis told me something bout the redline something or another just couldn’t remember what it was, but I had an iron horse with a 300 but it was a hard tail and they don’t joke when they said hard tail so she didn’t last long

Redline trans fluild is good...I like Schaeffer's 75 140 pretty good.

The 2 outer primary bolts you are talking about are bad to come loose...I have seen slot of 05 and up models do this

This bagger I bought last November done it already in 500 miles since the tranny rebuild...I noticed they where loose and ofcourse zero loctite was on them...its blue loctite and 20 foot pounds of torque...I dont know why it didnt have loctite on the bolts...but I didnt do this tranny job... but anyways I fixed it ..but you have to keep an eye on them

Well I’m so mad at no attacking this a lot sooner, the problem is so simple, some new bolts with lock tight this time and a seal and I should be rockin n rollin again!!! So happy because this is definitely the most comfortable bike I have ever had and just buying a brand new fanboy and the comfort of this old dog just not being there… shows me where my heart shoulda been all along… just been out of the game for entirely too long!! But I’m back in the saddle and will be an avid rider again!!! Maybe meet up with some of yall at the gatherings!!

Ace (hardware)is the place. Big selection of American and metric. Just buy a selection and ask if you can return what was a test. Take a pocket knife and shave down a chopstick so as to fit loose in the threaded hole; to get your depth figured out.

Those 2 inner bolts were out completely? The should have had locking tabs on them I believe. I can see a locking tab on the bolt by the flywheel…

All the motorcycle shops are closed on mondays except one, which is where I bought her about 15 years ago from the owner who bought it new. His brother is the one who told me “I bet my brother will sell his to you, he is too busy roping goats and it just sits”. lol, but I stole it, at the time they were going for about 20-22k and I got it for 13 out the door. And he already had hardwired it and got rid of all the EHC crap that all the dog owners deal with. And the bars and gauges are far better than any k9 I have ever been on! So I just love this thing!
