2009 Wolf battery replacement

Hello, first post and new Big dog owner. Have a 2009 Wolf and can’t get battery out. Side cover off but not seeing any strap or battery holder. Quite a bit of ECM and such around metal box. Help

Remove seat , unbolt battery cables, pull battery straight out. I always put painters tape or masking tape over the cable ends with what ever wires came off each side to keep them together.

Seat off, battery disconnected. I even crafted a small lift strap using the top terminals and battery simply will NOT budge

Welcome from Texas you might go to introductions and post a little about you and post some pix of your wolf. Welcome and I don’t know why your battery is So hard to get out.

I screw the bolts back on and grab them to life it out with a little wiggling

Wiggle it back and forth use the two bolts that hold the wires on grab them with something the battery could have gotten swollen a little if it went in it will come out

Thanks Battery must be really bad as it does not budge except for maybe 3/4”. I even screwed bolts in top terminals with oversized washers for leverage and it simply will not come out. Even out white lithium grease down in box and sides. Bike is sitting and almost making me regret buying it

Does the battery look swollen around the sides, slight bulge? You said it comes up about 3/4”. Can you see with a good light why/where it hangs up? Is the box bent in anyway?

Picture below. Simply stuck. Box is not damaged. This bike is flawless without so much as a scratch even though it is 11 years old.

Couple things..... disconnect the posts and "pull" gently the wires up. Looks as though the wires are "wedged" between the battery and the battery box? In addition, what is that back black cap? Not a locking device to hold the battery in I assume but removing it may give you more "wiggle" room?

Screw then bolts in the top holes then you can grab ahold of the battery wiggles it should come out grab them with some pliers with coated handles

Try as MJSK9 suggested. The cap may help if removed and also any wires on the side of the battery. I think the battery may just be swollen.

No offense meant, but have you removed all cables from the battery completely? I’ve not seen one so bad that a little elbow grease didn’t “pop” it out.

black cap is to my oil box. Wires are clear of battery. Thank you
