Seat off, battery disconnected. I even crafted a small lift strap using the top terminals and battery simply will NOT budgeRemove seat , unbolt battery cables, pull battery straight out. I always put painters tape or masking tape over the cable ends with what ever wires came off each side to keep them together.

No offense meant, but have you removed all cables from the battery completely? I’ve not seen one so bad that a little elbow grease didn’t “pop” it out.Picture below. Simply stuck. Box is not damaged. This bike is flawless without so much as a scratch even though it is 11 years old.
black cap is to my oil box. Wires are clear of battery. Thank youCouple things..... disconnect the posts and "pull" gently the wires up. Looks as though the wires are "wedged" between the battery and the battery box? In addition, what is that back black cap? Not a locking device to hold the battery in I assume but removing it may give you more "wiggle" room?
