Maybe you should think about getting a slam button for the starter. Could be your switch is bad. I know a guy with a ‘06 Chopper and he had that same problem. We switched out his boards and it took care of the issue. Slam button is a option though2005 pitbull.

Hey Paul, I am pretty sure that the new cr’s comes with the rubber boots. I have the tool that you need. PM me your address and I will send it to you.my concern is what I don’t know. Got some guidance on what to do or avoid. Anyone have the tool I can borrow Or rent? I need a new rubber boot as well. Will talk to Eric. I am not a mechanic but learning.
