I have a 04 mastiff not getting any spark it still has the original ECM and thunder heart on it, both light up when trying to start. Any ideas any help would be greatly appreciated. I just got the bike from my brother due to him passing away and want to get it running and fixed up.

Cam sensor is most likely suspect and a frequent cause of this issue.

But since you are working on the bike, check everything.
Check the battery voltage -- should be 12.8 before trying to start.
Does bike crank over well?
Check the run/off switch in the handlebars for proper operation (disconnect power and use ohm meter)
While battery disconnected, check the coil for continuity.

Once its running check the output of the VR to make sure it's charging.

Sorry about your brother.
Make sure spark is your problem. If the bike was running when last used it's more likely you have a fuel issue from sitting. If your ignition light is flashing, as Rottweiler suggested, it would indicate it's getting a signal from the cam sensor and needs further troubleshooting. If not, JBM is on the money.

I gave him the benefit of the doubt when he said "no spark" not just "not starting" that hopefully he had done some basic check for spark and found it absent, but good point Mike (in Jersey)

I tried 2 brand new spark plugs and still wasn't able to get spark

I guess the thunderheart only blinks once when trying to start so would that be the cam sensor gone bad?
Ignition module is suppose to blink while turning the motor over....by it blinking its showing the cam sensor is working...your cam sensor is fine if your ignition module is blinking while turning over the motor...now check from the ignition module to the coil to make sure you got power at the coil...also check to make sure the wires on the coil arent broke, shorted out or loss connection...if all that checks out good then your coil is bad if you not getting anything out of the coil to your plugs.

Probably it should be flashing the whole time motor is spinning. Mine is on when run button is pushed then flashes while motor is spinning. With a 2004 bike I believe you have a Crank pickup that is mounted on the right side under the nose cone. They do go bad. If your coil ohms out I would replace the pickup.

Ok. The leds on the ecm only light up the ignition and low beam. Are any other ones suppose to come on when trying to start

It doesn't flash it stays solid after it blinks off once
