04 pitbull to ridgeback build

Working on assembling the karata drive today, decided to clean up the engine primary and clutch hub nuts with a tap. Forgot the damn clutch hub nut was left hand threaded after the fact ! FML
Will be calling karata this week to get a new nut, hopefully they are in the shop this week.
Thought about just buying a left threaded tap and running it through the nut but I think it make remove too much material from the fastener and could weaken the threads.

Wet sanded and polished the motor mount foot control mount.
Has anyone chromed theirs? I am thinking about doing it but wonder if the chrome peels it could possibly cause the motor to misalign.
Thoughts?

Getting parts ready to send out to chrome. The controls were a bitch to disassemble. Lot of tiny parts and I took many pictures along the way. I wanted to remove all the soft goods from the controls before sending them out for chroming.
Hope to get these sent out this week waiting on a quote from sport chrome before I ship.

Getting the triple trees, motor mount and lower controls chromed.
Also have some more powder coating to get done.
The build is slow and I am trying not to hurry it together. $ is tight so I am doing it in chunks.

I just had my triple trees chromed and installed last week!

Hi, my name is Andy and I am a chrome whore! Parts look great!
Well that is the work of sport chrome! They do a phenomenal job in show chrome work unfortunately their work is damn expensive too.
But sometimes you get what you pay for.
I have used cheaper chrome shops for other jobs but it doesn’t compare to the quality.

Update: got this beauty installed tonight. Love the 4” on the ridgeback compared to the treadmill on the smaller pitbull.
Coming together nicely

Looks great and I love how it doesn't have the big old bearing support. Yea I know it's not as good for the trans but cool isn't always the best.

Agree, it’s the Jim’s transmission, from my understanding this transmission is pretty solid bearing wise. I am sure the torque adds quite a bit of stress without the plate but only miles will tell.

Ready to eat some pant legs!
