It was a problem they (BDM) addressed in 05' because of the oil being pushed into some of the starters. Yours should have it in Cdoggy.

Yep, I got it! So what about the oil relief in the starter? Is that something that was in the newer bikes?
Yes and what I don't know is if all the inner primaries in 05 and 06 had the drain though. So if you cut the starter drain without this hole on your inner primary you did more harm than good.
He broke it again and doesn't want to fess up..
Shit some of the wrongly modified starters are still being sold as new ones, my original starter did not have the oil relief in it, but the problems started after I noticed a busted starter nose from my clutch hub nut coming lose and chewing up the starter ring gear. The new starter I bought had the relief cut too deep and filled with oil and then my starter nightmares started. Its finally straightened out
