Would you replace tire?

Have an Avon 300 on 07 Dog. Probably original, but bike only has 3700 miles on it and sits most of the time. No cracks or bulges. Would you change it?

Prolly not, but if you ride hard you might want to, what's the born date on the tire? its 4 numbers in the sidewall, and is it an Avon Venom tire? they were original

07 scoot, tire is ten years old. Change it. Cheap insurance when it's the only thing between you and the road. I'd be fine with it on four wheels but not two. Just my 2 pence.

Change it!
I've had a rear blowout on a new tire. Not a fun ride...plus waiting forever for the tow truck.

DAMN, I must worthless..... I still have the 03 rear tire on my dog.

IT depends if money is nothing buy a new tire to sit along side 10 year old.... maybe they will both learn
something new about tires.

IT also depends how you ride, with 370 miles per year I'll bet it will last 20 years.

BTW the date code is AFTER the DOT number

a little sidebar; if you keep the old tire on the skoot, you will tend to not ride and enjoy it as much as you would like to because of the fear in the back of your mind that it could blow at any moment. for peace of mind, go ahead and do it as soon as you can afford to. and do the bearings at the same time.

I am still on my original Avon Venom dated 05, the bearings did give up before the tire.... I am going to finish it off this summer and get a new one for winter.

I would ride it out. the chance of a "blow out" are nil. The worst case it would get hardened due to the vulcanization process which would make it have less traction and prone to leaks. That's just me though.
