I have been riding for 45 years and have had several different bikes. LOVED my Yamaha and Never had a single thing go wrong with it...ever. I now purchased a Big Dog Mutt New in '08 and still own it. I have not had anything go wrong with this bike either. I LOVE IT!!! BUT, I Do get Crap from Harley riders. Never from Suzuki, Yamaha, Honda or ANY OTHER bikers... JUST Harley riders. And they can get down right nasty with you. I don't get it either. A lot of Harley riders just think if you are not on a Harley your a piece of crap. My best buddy rides a crotch rocket and we go everywhere together and we both catch hell from the Harley riders.... it's ridiculous. We just tell them to fuck off.

Ya, I hear you. There is a biker bar not far from me and 90% of the guys ride Harleys. I have been going there for 2 years now and know most of the guys. If I ride my Fat boy they all come around and talk to me. If I ride the Dog, some will come out when I show up and tell me what a beautiful bike it is. If I ride the Road Star maybe 1 or 2 will ask a few questions.

I've never had a Harley rider anywhere be nasty to me. Down right rude ya but never nasty. The ones that are rude are usually newbies with new bikes, leathers, patches, boots and live to ride shit on their bikes. The older bikers seem to be ok with it all. I just ignore the newbies and go my own way.

I hope your luck stays with you. It seems like some guys have no problems and others like me get them all. I'm glad I have 3 bikes so I can ride when ever I want to. I feel bad for the guys who don't and get stuck watching others have fun after spending all the time and money on their ride.

The only bitch I have is I have to put up with shit from someone when I ride any of my bikes.... :bang:

I was doing some research on my '03 Chopper and came across some Harley-Davidson forum of some kind, and some dude was asking H-D owners what they thought about Big Dogs and most of them bashed the hell out of Big Dogs even though it appeared that not many of them ever owned one. Now I've owned several H-D's through the years, including some crappy old AMF years bikes, a new '95 Bad Boy, an '02 Wide Glide, and an '07 Road King Classic, and the newer ones were great bikes but I've never bashed H-D's for any reason. So why all the hate ??? I don't get it. My Chopper runs like a scalded cat and i haven't even fully gotten into it yet to really see the performance but I know what it would do in a race with any of my old Harleys, and, it really feels like it has a soul and temperment, maybe like a hot woman, and it doesn't make me feel like I'm riding a cookie cutter bike. Can someone please explain to me why these guys feel the need to hate and bash what I believe are pretty sweet machines ? Shoo
probably cause they would rather have yours than what they have???

I ride my 2010 Bulldog with a bunch of HD riders and never had a issue.. They give me shit because I need gas every 150 miles but I tell them my bigger dog needs more water to run.

I just bought a Harley 2002 FLH to make a bagger out of and rode it home 60 miles. At 60 in 5th gear the mirrors were spinning and my teeth were rattling and I kept lookin for that next gear. It's getting a 6 speed for sure and I'm going to flip it when it's done but the Dog has it all over that Harley... Now my Fatboy custom built by me with the balanced 107 S&S motor and 6 speed is something else more like an early BD but it's not a Harley...

When I was on HD forum researching a possible Road or Street Glide purchase some dipshit saw the K9 listed as a current bike and posted "the whole 300 rear chopper thing is played out"...don't buy one then dipshit and don't worry about what I'm riding.....There are some really uptight assholes on that site for sure.. :2thumbs:

ain't looking for anyones approval anyway.. :(

Hey Mike, I hear you. Why anyone would give a shit about what someone else rides is beyond me. Ride what you like, it's your money. I'm not buying into whatever the current fad is, whether it's a bobber or a bagger or a rat bike, I don't care. To me there's just nothing like a classic chopper look. And everyone asks me about how my '03 Chopper rides because they think it's got to be uncomfortable, but I just tell them it rides like a dream. So in two or three years when these guys are searching for their next greatest and latest fad, guys like you and I will be riding our Big Dogs around Upstate New York and enjoying our beautiful bikes. That is if it ever warms up around here.... Shoo
