Why so many Big Dog haters on the H-D Forums ? WTF is up with that ???

Same thing happened to me at a bike/car show. Parked at the end of the bike row and did not enter, walked away because of all the questions. When I got back the guy next to me said there has been a lot of film burned up on your bike today.

Last show I entered I left early and that evening a buddy that was there called me and said, I got your trophy you won first place.

The pitbull poster that came out years ago about "The Problem with Being the Black Sheep is Your Still a Sheep" or something like that is still true today.

Looking forward to retirement
I have fun, I go to different HOG chapter meetings all over La, East Tx, Ark< & Miss. I usually do 5-8 sets of custom ear plugs and 1 or 2 ear buds using Klipsch speakers. The only damn chapter I have yet to do 1 set for 1 person is MY OWN CHAPTER! so I now ride my Big Dog to every meeting! Our chapter president finally asked me please support the chapter and ride your HD, I told him, That this is the ONLY CHAPTER in 200 miles that does not support ME!

I went to a bike show at a harley dealership up here. I did not enter my bike because it was not done yet. But the service manager did get to put air in my front tire because one of their loyal customers decided to flatten my front tire. First and last time I will ever be in a harley dealership. Their shit is all over priced anyhow. I can go to a local bike shop and get everything I need way cheaper.

It's a worldwide thing mate, when i got my BD all the Harley riders i knew said they would call me when they had a ride out going on and since then i haven't heard a thing from any of them. I just dont think they can handle the fact that they thought they had a cool bike and then once they saw mine they realised theirs was all of a sudden nowhere as cool as they first thought. Wankers, the lot of them. lol

I have a couple friends with Harleys, I don't hold it against them, and they don't hold it against me that I have a Big Dog. My best ridding buddy has a Kawasaki. It is a small V-Twin and he keeps talking about getting something bigger or flashier and I keep asking him if he is happy with his current bike then why spend the money on anything else. He says that's why he still has what he has, he hasn't been able to justify upgrading yet because he enjoys riding so much that he doubts a more expensive scooter will make it any better.
One friend of mine has an expensive ,relative new, Harley bagger, another has an older Harley that he has spent a lot of time customizing (but not a whole lot of money) and keeps it looking like a new one. The first one says he would like to have had a Big Dog when he was younger, the other says he would like to have a Big Dog if he could afford one. I am not going to argue with them that the one guy is my age, or that Big Dogs these days are not more expensive to buy than Harleys, they both are happy with what they have, and I am happy for them.

One friend owns a HD dealership, another a Victory/Indian dealership. Neither will take a Big Dog on trade. They say they sit to long and loose money on them. Guess people who buy there are looking for the stock "sheep" bikes. Never had any issues with either place, they love the look of my bike. Guess its just a choice, do you want to look like everyone else, and stick out in the crowd. Every rally i go to people always stop and my bike.

I haven't had any of these issues around here. Most of the weekend rides i go on are with the local HOG chapter. I'll ride with any brand, makes no difference to me so long as they know how to ride.

Wow, I guess it's just not me that has had the welcome mat pulled out from underneath them at a Harley dealership. The dealership here in Rochester sells H-D's, Kawasaki's, Yamaha's, and Royal Endfields. Yet when I went in there to buy some tranny fluid for my Big Dog I was treated like a second class citizen. Parts guys were always cool with me when I went in for H-D stuff but just the mention of Big Dog and you'd think I had the plague or something. Fuck them, there's a couple more dealers not that much farther away that will get my business in the future. Not to mention my buddy took his Cenzi Custom Chopper there for a possible trade in on a more comfortable H-D, and the douche bag salesman offered him $2000 for his totally custom chopper !!!! Assholes ! I asked him, "Did you punch that fucker in the face"? He sure wanted to.... Shoo
Bunch of them are assholes not all of them but lots of them. For some reason specially HD riders act like they envy someone that rides a BDM or any other custom American bike or they act like they just don't like you. I know BDM was not a custom shop but their bikes look like a custom made bike. I love ALL motorcycles, every single bike IMHO is beautiful. Riders on the other hand tend to be as annoying as drivers of certain brand of vehicles. Don't say anything bad about "their" brand because they immediately have a tantrum and sizures! Fucking D-Bags HAHAHA

Guess I'm pretty open minded about both as I own both as do a lot of members here. I can't say I favor one over the other as both bikes are of their own purpose. My HD is for long road trips with my Wife who loves to ride and my K9 is for those times I want to look and feel like a real bad ass. I ride with a bunch of HD's and when Mike and I are on our Dogs, they want us out front because they look, sound and are bad ass. Own both, enjoy both. Best part about my bikes is I've met a lot of cool people while out riding. To me that's the fun part...

Just give it up already... Gezz...

No one is going to feel sorry for you because the Harley guys don't like your Big Dog... And they are not envious either I'm sorry to say... I have both and have had Harley type bikes all my life and now have a BD in the garage as well as a Fat Boy and a YAMAHA Road Star.

It's the attitude you have they don't like not the bike, like "look at my $40k beautiful bike don't ya wish you had one too" that gets their dander up. You're not special because you have a Big Dog. You're just stupid enough to think so.

Get over it and realize there are many different types of bikes out there for different types of people and not everyone is going to agree on which is the "best" bike.

Right now my Yamaha Road Star ( $7k invested) in my opinion is TWICE the bike of the Big Dog or the Harley Fat Boy but that is just my opinion. Ya, the Harley guys laugh and the Big Dog guys laugh but in the end it's what makes ME happy to ride and what makes ME feel good on it and what will bring MY ass back at the end of the day so go cry in your beer and just get over it..... or buy a few bikes and ride the one everyone likes...

The BEST bike I have ever owned.... (and I have built many and have been riding for 50 years now) Unlike the Big Dog and Fat Boy it starts every time, runs all day long, has 94 HP, 102 CI, can take a 15 mph curve at 45 mph, is smooth and I never have to work on it unless I want to customize it. Does 85 mph in 4th gear (it has 5 gears). Look at the Road Star forum and you will NEVER see a "it won't start" or "It won't run" or "it is leaking oil" thread.... More than I can say for this forum... and you can build the RS into a chopper too...

So stick with your BD dream and put up with the ECh problems, bearing problems, tranny problems, front end problems, wheel bearing problems, control problems and such but know the rest of the biker community knows. Ya, these are beautiful bikes but not without their problems and you can buy mine for 10k now....

Wow, you sound bitter. Do you drive a Toyota Prius too ? I think you might be needing some anger management classes. And don't call me stupid, you don't know shit about me. And, I don't have an attitude. I've been riding since 1976 so you don't have that much time on me. The question was why do Harley Forum members want to bash others instead of accepting that everyone is different and has varying tastes ? Ride what you like, I've got no problems with it, I'll give you a wave if it's got two wheels and an engine. And I'll ride my American-made Victory Kingpin that does all the shit your Yamaha does and will blow your doors off. Sorry that you hate your Big Dog, makes me wonder why you continue to hang out here ??? Shoo
