Why so many Big Dog haters on the H-D Forums ? WTF is up with that ???

I was doing some research on my '03 Chopper and came across some Harley-Davidson forum of some kind, and some dude was asking H-D owners what they thought about Big Dogs and most of them bashed the hell out of Big Dogs even though it appeared that not many of them ever owned one. Now I've owned several H-D's through the years, including some crappy old AMF years bikes, a new '95 Bad Boy, an '02 Wide Glide, and an '07 Road King Classic, and the newer ones were great bikes but I've never bashed H-D's for any reason. So why all the hate ??? I don't get it. My Chopper runs like a scalded cat and i haven't even fully gotten into it yet to really see the performance but I know what it would do in a race with any of my old Harleys, and, it really feels like it has a soul and temperment, maybe like a hot woman, and it doesn't make me feel like I'm riding a cookie cutter bike. Can someone please explain to me why these guys feel the need to hate and bash what I believe are pretty sweet machines ? Shoo

If you had a bike that didn't come close to being as cool as a BD wouldn't you be upset too.....LOL

:2thumbs:

Ive had everything from an 87 Suzuki GS450 (starter bike), Kawasaki Vulcan, 02 HD Softail, to the Big Dog. I fully customized my Softail and when I sold it, I never thought I'd have a nicer bike, then I found my Chopper. Its the most bad ass bike I've ever owned, only downfall is theres not much I can do to it to make it any better, and I've always loved to make stuff my own. Some guys are just so hell bent on HD or nothing, they are blind to anything else. I could care less what brand someone rides, if its a nice looking bike and they ride, thats all that maters. But I know alot of hardcore HD only riders, and I get nothing but compliments on the Big Dog from them.

That's funny cause when I am out riding with Harley owners all they do is say how bad ass my bike is, maybe they are just scared to to say it in person! I think people tend to turn into tough guys on forums and say a lot of things they wouldn't otherwise say in person!:D

Here's a few pics from today, one Big Dog and a hell of a lot of Harley's! Well, there was one Big Dog Chopper but you can't see it in the pics.

Ahhh.....thought it might be a jealousy thing. Can't wait until the 8 foot high snow banks melt up here and I finally get to put some miles on the Chopper. My awesome wife is ordering me a custom seat from Sterling this week so I'll have it for Spring and my birthday next month, and then I can get in some warm weather ridin'. I didn't get my Chopper until last November and only got it out a couple of times. It'll be interesting to see what some of my old buddies think of the Dog, especially when they are breathing my exhaust gas while I'm blowin' by them on their Harleys !!! Should be fun too when the sweet girls stroll past the dime a dozen same as the next guy H-D's so they can drool all over my Big Dog !!! Hope the old lady doesn't read this...... Shoo

Well... yesterday I went to a "get-together" bike show.... there were around 500 bikes only.... all HDs and only 1 Big Dog.... the organizer (Victory Dealer) asked me to park my K9 next to his brand new Victorys on his stand.....

My K9 was the MOST LOOKED AT & PHOTOGRAPHS TAKEN in the whole show! I had to walk away because people weren't stopping asking questions about it!!!!

:whoop: :2thumbs:

At my local HD stealership/service centre, the sales team and parts people have been told that anybody asking for parts for Bigdog, AIH, Victory, or any other factory American bike other than HD or Buel, are not to be served and to be shown the door politely! :loony:

If you are asking for parts for a metric cruiser other than from the USA they will try and help you if you have a part number for them. If you have a part number for them and don't mention about what bike it's for, they will help you very efficiently and friendly.

This is how archaic they are, they have only recently as of 2013 started servicing imported HD's.

Short and simple answer, Bigdog's, AIH, etc make Harley Davidson's look bad.

Harley Davidson Rocker C vs any Bigdog
Harley Davidson CVO breakout vs any Bigdog

A close friend of mine who is CVO breakout loyalist finally converted to a real bike (big dog / AIH), when he took my mastiff for a ride, came back and made an offer way above what I paid for the bike.:zdrool:.

Naturally I refused, always good to know I have a sale when it comes time to part.

I offered him my vrod, he declined.

One of mine friends says "why do you ride that damn thing, every trip we go on you end up working on it" My answer was, it looks better than my harley:D
He exaggerated a little bit, only had to tear the primary down in an Advance auto parking lot because a piece of metal( looked like a chip off the starter bendix) got hung in the clutch plates . Running out of gas isn't breaking down:)

HD rider's are closed minded A holes. Seriously, HD just puts BNG (bold new graphics) on their products and people buy them whereas Big Dog went where HD should have 20 years ago.

I have got a wierd feeling from the guy at the parts counter at the Harley shop, he really was not very helpful when I asked him a question, just seemed wierd, but never had anyone try and "politely show me to the door", that would not be cool!

Wow, I guess it's just not me that has had the welcome mat pulled out from underneath them at a Harley dealership. The dealership here in Rochester sells H-D's, Kawasaki's, Yamaha's, and Royal Endfields. Yet when I went in there to buy some tranny fluid for my Big Dog I was treated like a second class citizen. Parts guys were always cool with me when I went in for H-D stuff but just the mention of Big Dog and you'd think I had the plague or something. Fuck them, there's a couple more dealers not that much farther away that will get my business in the future. Not to mention my buddy took his Cenzi Custom Chopper there for a possible trade in on a more comfortable H-D, and the douche bag salesman offered him $2000 for his totally custom chopper !!!! Assholes ! I asked him, "Did you punch that fucker in the face"? He sure wanted to.... Shoo
