I wasn’t on the ground with Andrew in Europe and I share his frustration with the European “group buy” of RIP kits. I agree with him that you do not talk down to customers…or anybody for that matter. Talking down to customers is unacceptable in our shop and I personally apologized to Andrew for our communications coming off as such. If there is anybody else reading this that has received rude treatment from KMW, please accept my sincere apologies and call me so I can inquire further and make sure it doesn’t happen again. As you can expect, there is much more depth to all of this than what has been discussed on this forum. What I want everybody to know is this was a small, custom-project that didn’t go as planned and Andrew got the unfortunate job of trying to clean up the mess. We did offer (and it still stands) that we will re-label and re-work (to their specification), or even replace (if necessary) every kit we supplied to Europe for this order. To date, I understand that the problems were resolved with our customer overseas and I have spoken with them many times since so I have no reason to believe otherwise. We are just trying to build the most robust EHC replacement kit we can here at KMW. There are other great options out there and, again, I encourage you to research them all before making a purchase decision. It has been mentioned many times on this forum the quality of the Module we use is very high. With that said, I am not hiding the few warranty issues we have had were our fault. We are not perfect and that is why we have a warranty. I dare you to find me somebody in this industry that hasn’t made a mistake. We are not advertising our product as something proprietary. In fact, we are doing the exact opposite because we tell customers how easy replacement parts will be to source. We add value to the raw materials by supplying the bracket, heat-shrinking, cutting-to-length, and pre-terminating each kit to fit the individual motorcycle. Basically it is labor and parts assembly…like any other part on the motorcycle. For these services we have to make a margin…just as it would cost money for a technician to hard-wire any other harness in. Everybody on this forum shares a passion for Big Dogs and we should lift each other up in the pursuit of keeping the dogs on the road. As we all know, that is getting tougher and tougher these days.
