NADA bike values

Man I've been out of biken for about 2 or 3 years. I found a 07 K9 with 2700 miles on it. Guy wanted 21000.00 got him down to 18000.00 thinking I was doing good. NADA is 15500.00. I thought these bikes would go up in value since there not making anymore. What do you guys think?? Does this seem like a fair price or should I try to get him lower?? Its got air ride, aftermarket pegs and grips and bigger cams in it. Just seeing what you guys think. Thanks David

There has been a few sold on here latley. Hopefully someone will chime in. Nice looking bike. Start with the book value and go from there. i guess it's all about how bad he wants to sell and how bad you want it.

Count your blessings you got a great deal. The book doesn't mean anything unless you have to get money from a bank.

It's worth whatever people are willing to pay. As said above, NADA only relevant if talking to a bank or insurance company...

Does it have the chrome package Wheels ETC, that and any mods would be added to NADA.

I just bought an 07 k9 with 1300 miles on it.
I did pay around nada value for it.
But I showed up with cash and made him an offer he couldn't refuse :)
That bike looks real nice though, I would offer $16k for it easy

My neighbor up the street just bought an 06 K-9 with a very cool custom paint job (Dragon and skull) for $10K. The bike also has V&H Big Radius pipes, custom gator seat and a Karata belt drive. The bike has 12K miles on it. The chopper fad is over most choppers are going for $10-15K.

I would disagree with you. Most people do not have the disposable income combined with a smaller audience may be driving the prices down. I think the guy just wanted to unload the bike $10k seems very low IMHO.

Chopper fad? More like wanna be's that bought choppers. Choppers are far from a fad and will be around as long as people ride. Fat tire fad maybe but never chopper fad.

NADA only relevant for banks and insurance co is so very true but if you pay way above NADA and god forbid , the insurance co is only going to look at NADA and a good chance the individual will lose regardless of what upgrades have been done.

Secondly what i think holds the value down for these types of bikes the average person who buys one knows he is taking a chance with parts, networking for help with repairs etc. or visions going to the independant cycle shop down the road for repairs.

So I wouldn't disregard NADA but use it as a tool for negotiations. I just bought a Pittbull with this same situation and paid a little more cuz its what I wanted but, also know I could have paid a little less if I was a little more aggressive. I was able to pick it up between trade in value and retail value.

In the end it's all up the individual and thier wallet on what's fair

Its a very nice looking scoot! I do believe he's asking a bit high for it. I've seen several 07s go for between 15 and 16k... If you have cash in hand, I think he'll deal more with you... Good luck with the purchase... :2thumbs:

NADA is based on actual sales figures. They don't just guess at it. You pay attention to their numbers if you want to know what actual value is; don't want to overpay; or may want to sell it because that is what you will get. There are a lot more bikes than buyers. It's WINTER. At least 50 bike "companies" went down the shitter last year. None of their bikes are going up in value. $15 thou is definately not low money considering what is out there right now.
