Clutch suggestions

OK so got all apart. About 4 months ago replaced the basket. The outer ring gear/drive gear (where the clutches grip to...dont know the actual name) is all scored to shit. Called Baker as it is them whom i got the basket etc from a few months ago. They wanted to sell me the whole assembly for $700 (which i have all of it except that drive gear) or they would sell just the gear to me with new clutches for $600....WTF.
Gonna call bandit tomorrow as that just pissed me off.

The actual part is the outer hub sprocket

Thanks for all the info folks. I have decided to go with the Bandit set up. only thing is i think i have to order the outer hub from baker, so there is another $$$.... SUCKS!

does bandit carry everything needed?...reason i ask is i will need the gear that turns the starter and i dont see it in the pics of there bruiser

The piece i checked into was the "OUter hub sprocket" dssc #3023 i think is the part #. No bandit doesnt carry it. It's a baker part only...at least that is what i found. Thanks about the starter ring gear heads up. I am assuming bandit doesnt have that? They also said I will need a shim for the clutch as it goes onto the shaft since the bolts on the basket have a tendency to rub on the outer case......

Got a question for the group. gotta 2005 chopper rt, barely 5000 miles when ( I thought) my clutch was going. What I mean is; when I crank on it at the top end of 2nd and third gear, I would feel what was a "jackhammer" in the seat of my pants. I thougt the clutch was slipping. So I had my Mechanic replace it with a Bandit Machine works clutch and basket. However, this did not resolve the situation. So I am open to advice at this point.

That was my original thought, checked it out, and everything seems to be fine in that area. Even the mechanic dismissed it as the belt slipping. When I took it back to him for the 500 mile adjustment on the clutch, he then tells me ( after riding it) that its the tranny, and that I need to send it out to baker for a $1500 rebuild. So I guess, I am also fishing for info to see if this mechanic knows his stuff or not.
Barnett makes the clutch cable... baker makes the tranny/ primary drive.....big difference.....but I know what your gettin at.....I agree gonna cost alot of money to play....torque box here I come...gonna have ta modify the tranny plate but then my open belt. Will be cheaper....also gonna have ta set up chain........ah just a dream....peace

yes i know who makes the cables and the tranny.. just wondering if their clutch will work in our bikes.. if not, is there any modifications that can be done so they will work..
also, are there any other open belt drives that are compatible.. all through this forum i only here of about two brands that people are using. and none of the karata drives catch my attention at all. So what is the difference in their drives that work with our bikes that no others do?
