Should I get the 06 Ridgeback or a 08 Rocker by HD.

Im a pretty new member to this forum but a long time HD rider (1st Sporty I bought was 1973) and a short time Big dog owner (2004 Ridgeback) and have HDs (Custom bobber and StreetGlide) and BigDogs (Chopper and 06 Ridgeback) now ...so here are my thoughts... HD is still having issues with the Rocker...big time! It was pieced together to get in custom market and so far they blew it (IMHO). Ive rode my Ridgeback to Sturgis and Daytona from Tennessee with no issues and sure didnt blend in the crowd. Getting a bike ya know is worth a few extra bucks...and helping a friend out of a financial bind is worth even more And as foar as help and advice...this forum beats most HD forums hands down. Ur call but been there done that...if ya dont get the Dog...you'll always wonder what it would have been like!

Looks like the call is yours to make and yours alone. Influences will always be there by other people but the fact of the matter remains that it's your ass that's going to be in the saddle. Make sure you are going to be comfortable with whatever riding you plan on doing. Don't do it because we are giving you our points of view, and don't do it because mom & pops want you to. Get it bcause you want it.

Take the first couple of turns nice and easy until you get the hang of handling a 9+ft bike. Also, watch out for bridges, RR tracks and large pot holes. You have to hold on when you hit a big bump. Other than that....Practice makes perfect
. Once you get the hang of it you'll kick yourself in the ass for ever thinking about that HD Rocker.....:2thumbs:

I love my Dog and will buy another Ridgeback when it comes time to put this in a new home. My wife wants a Pitbull. So that tells you something about the Ridged bikes, If the wife will ride it, it isn't that bad. But, If I did buy a Harley right now, and I wouldn't, but if I did, I would buy that ugly Rocker.
