Well doesn't sound like a starter issue to me but you never know. I would see if you could borrow a friends good battery and try it again. Still sounds like the battery or connections to me.I took it to a napa store and it was load tested. Like I said, it will crank about 3 times and thats it. After that, it doesn't click or anything. It just won't turn it over at all.

Still think it's a battery issue but starting it a large part of it also. Where do you live? What is the temp. I would replace the plugs and with a couple twists of the throttle and keeping the throttle closed give it a whirl. It should start right up.The battery is what I had tested. No I don't know how to do the compression thing. I suck at mechanics. I turn gas on, pull up enricher, give one twist and let go and then try. I didn't replace the plugs, but am going to when I change all my fluids. Didn't think it was a plug issue because starting isn't the problem it is the turning over that is a problem

OK 2 things... Get that battery charged up turn key on up on your throttle grip hit the OFF Button then Hit the Run Button Then Two quick twist of throttle and hit start button. Dont use enrichner if you have to use the enrichner your carb needs adjustment (There is a How to) on here But you dont know yet if your carb need adjustment untill you read your plug (There is a how to on that too)The battery is what I had tested. Thats what I am bettinSounds like a bad battery not fully charge and he's flooding the bike with the enrichner.

Your right. It's a simple newbie mistake.Thats what I am bettin
And I bet that Pup was Chugging like a freight train when he was trying to start it
It doesn't sound like a battery problem to me, but a compression problem. You have a brand new battery with plenty of CCA's but it doesn't sound like you're engaging the compression releases. These are huge motors and need all the help they can get turning over. You need to hit the "run" button after you turn on the key. This will open the compression releases untill it fires. If this doesn't work try opening them manually . Also do you know what cam is in the bike? Some cams are dsigned to close the valves a bit early causing more compression and harder starting. Hope this helps. The battery is what I had tested. No I don't know how to do the compression thing. I suck at mechanics. I turn gas on, pull up enricher, give one twist and let go and then try. There is a rubber bubble in the center of each head. Push them down and give it a try. I don't think that is your trouble though. My bike has no compression releases and it cranks fine (a little slow but never not started). The only reason I used the enricher is because thats how it told me to in the manual. I think it is a compressoin issue. I don't know much but to me a fouled plug wouldn't keep the bike from turning over would it? I would like to try that push button deal for the compression release if someone has a link. ITs 51 degrees today! Had to work 2 shift last night just now caught back up w my thread
