I have been looking at bikes on ebay pretty seriously for a few weeks, and think prices will come down a bit more.

Dont fret if it don't sell in that auction. many people close deals outside the ebay auction.

I purchased my 2003 BD Chopper off of ebay and I hhave sold 2 MC on there. It works. If you stay with paypal they will ensure the crooks are weeded out. If you make a deal outside of ebay or paypal, then you're taking the chance of getting ripped off.

Just my opinion..................

My wife and I both got our Dogs off Ebay. Bought them the same week and drove from New Orleans to Winchester, VA and then over to Quaker, CT to pick them up. What a road trip. We test rode both bikes before handing over the cash. I can tell you this. Both bikes were listed as "clear title" and neither were completely paid off. I sent partial payment on mine to payoff the bike so I would have a title in hand when I picked up the bike. My wife had to wait almost 2 weeks from when we picked it up before she had title in hand. Something about the way VA credit unions had to go around the world to get a title back to the owner. We love our bikes! We have had a few issues, but I think most that put on the miles have shit happen on occasions. That's how I found this site. Had I known about this site before, I would have had a member close by check out the bike for me. Dog owners are the best ones to check out Dog bikes. No doubt about that!

hell yeah I'd do it, in fact I check the ebay listing multiple times a day like the wall streeters check the boards:lol: as mentioned 2 must do's to make it a painless operation, find one close to home & use paypal to insure the deal stays on the up & up!:2thumbs:

Ebay is a great market place. I have bought and sold several cars through ebay all good experiences. The only time I got burned is when I went outside of the protection of ebay when I didn't win the bid and bought anyway. Ended up with a truck with a blown head gasket and no recourse, ebay would have provided protection and warranty.
You do have to be pretty Ebay savy and know how to use it. Do as much verification as you can before you buy and if you know someone that uses ebay alot have them help you out. There are things that long time ebay users can spot right away indicate scams or sketchy deals.
I would have bought my dog off ebay if I didn't find such a great deal locally. I was lucky.

How YOU doin?
I just bought an 05 Chopper with only 3,400 on her from a guy off of Craigslist in New Jersey. Got a steal of a buy at $13,000 and this thing is MINT. But I had a friend of mine in Jersey go and take a look at it before hand. I ended up paying $650 to get it here to St. Louis and could have paid less, but the company I used could get it to me in a few days vs a few weeks. There are certainly deals out there if you're willing to travel, however, I would ALWAYS look at it before I bought it.

But for that price, I was willing to fly out there for a day and take a look at it myself if need be.

I bought my 08 K9 off ebay in April, did lots of research and looked at hunderds of bikes since last fall untill I found excatly what I was looking for which was on ebay. Yes, I was scared buying it without acually seeing it in person, but did it anyway, had an issue the first day after purchase that turned out to be the VR which was replaced and have now logged over 2000 miles on it with out a single issue. I love this bike and what I payed for it on ebay was a steal.

I found my bike on eBay but contacted seller off eBay and set up a deal.
I went to pick up personaly with money in hand.
I did give him a small deposit to let him know I was serious.
He turned out to be a nice and honest guy.
I would not have done it if I didn't go and see it myself or at least sent someone I trusted.
All and all it worked out great for me!!

I bought my LE K-9 from Dream machines of Texas off of ebay. There was over thirty pictures of the bike on ebay. And they are a reliable company i would say from my experience. But i called them and talked to them about the condition and price. Then next day it was mine. I was lucky it was in as good as condition as they said. I never looked at the bike or had someone look at the bike for me before i bought it. I guess i just have balls and willing to take that chance.

i bought my dog from tempe arizona just based on pics.... i had a few minor issues, bad battery, close to dead starter bad tach board etc.... but after sending the HD estimate to the dealer of about $1000 ... we settled for $550 and i bought all my parts off ebay and installed my self and still made about $200 off the deal. The bike was as described not a scratch.... even the transport truck driver said he couldnt find a scratch on it.

Im still kinda kicking myself in the ass because i talked to an attorney in arizona and he said that according to the AZ lwmon law they were responsible for the whole $1000 invoice.... but i already settled ... O well ill be smarter next time.

1.)know the lemon law
2.)get everything in writing
3.)make them say that the bike is ready to go "no problems"
4.)bring bike to harley or BD and have it checked asap even if everything seems ok.
5.)use a credit card ...... charge backs are a bitch
6.)make sure they overnight the title with the bike

if i would have done all that it would have been gravy.

I have no regrets buying my bike off EBAY ... i got the exact bike i wanted and havent seen one even close to mine anywhere around NOLA.

I actually consider my BD one of the best purchases ive ever made.
