Took off work early today to get a jump start on my weekend.
Masked off my flames, and sprayed the Crystal stuff on.

Then I sprayed on the silver paint and let it dry.
Then an hour worth of scrubbing to get the crystal back off.
I'm about 86.7% happy with the way it came out.

Tomorrow I'll get the candy green on it, then Sunday the flames.

Do you think it might crack in the v's at the top of the cut
I hope not, and it shouldn't, for two reasons. 1. the corners are actually round, and two: the back side is reinforced with kitty hair fiberglass, almost a quarter inch thick.
If it does, oh well, I repaint every couple years anyway.

Also, I didn't have a picture, the very tip is beveled, so it won't stab the tire, should it come in contact with it.

Bad words, bad words, bad words
This doesn't need big pictures. I ran to town, and while I was gone, the ice broke loose from the roof, and took out the main air line to my 500 gal supply tank. It will take 3 days to fill that back up with air.
The air pressure inside the wall, blew the sheet rock loose from the studs.
Luckily nothing hit the bike.

When it rains, it pours. The toilet tank started to leak in the master bath, and the wife was going to replace the flooring and the toilet. When I came in to see if the wife needed anything from Lowes, I found that she had gutted the whole bath room. She's replacing everything but the light fixture, and that was probably just an over sight.
Anyway, I got the fittings I needed. Once I get that sealed back up, I can run off my small tank till I get that 500 gal one pumped back up.
Now back to our regularly schedule program. Here's an over all picture, so you can see where I'm headed with this.

The blue stripes around the flames, is tape. Once the flames are painted, there will be a black pinstripe around them.

Got my air line fixed, the wall nailed back in place, and mudded.
Even had time to get some polishing done.

Found a broke stud on one of the OP pieces. Red locktight in aluminum, this will be fun to get out.

drill a small hole all the way through the broke bolt, get an easy out started in it, then put it in the oven on 550 degrees for ten minutes. 550 is the supposed melting point of the red locktight
It should come right out. In my experience, it always comes out easier if the hole is drilled all the way through, I guess it relieves some internal stress. Most times, as the bit tries to break through the other end, the bolt starts turning. But then again most times are not red locktighted.

Thanks bearman for the input. You are spot on with the info. As a machinist, I stuck it in my lathe, and used a left hand center drill, then a left hand drill bit, and it spun right out.:2thumbs:

Shot the flames tonight. Ran out of sunlight, before I got it untapped. So this is just a spot light on them.

I think it will look awesome once It's cleared.

I woke up at 6am this morning, and decided to get working on the bike. I got a few coats of clear on it, and my angel in place.
I decided not to polish the engine fins, I've just had to many interruptions to get that done. So I repainted the engine, and started polishing the edges of the fins. I'll post a picture of that when I'm done.
I got about 85% of the aluminum polished out. Pulled the intake off the engine and polished it out.
Did all that and still had time to install a new toilet and medicine cabinet for my wife, in the bathroom she's remodeling.

Oh yea, I finished up that gun stock too.
