How long did you let it run? When I first did mine they ticked like hell also so I re-did them and it fixed it. I learned it just hard to get the rears set right cause you don't know when the cylinder is at TDC. I did a post on the procedures in the Tech section a couple weeks ago.

Give a go again and see if it's better. :2thumbs:

got to make sure your at TDC of the compression stroke. an easy way to tell is when both lifters of the same cylinder are at their lowest point.

zero lash = a slight drag

4 turns is center of travel of the piston in the tappet.

use some chalk to mark the rod so its easier to count the turns.

dont let it turn when tightening. it takes 3 wrenches.

let it bleed down to when the rods spin before going to the next cylinder.

Might want to check that you didn't crap your pants.:whoop: Congrats on your cam install.:2thumbs:What jets are you running? I'm still fine tuning mine. From the day I bought my bike I noticed a huge stumble at about 4000 rpm during full throttle. I figured the main jet was too small- felt like it was running out of gas. Turns out there was a .084 main and a .032 int. So I went down to a .080 and .031. The .031 took care of the decel pop completely, but I still have a slight stumble at 4000 rpm. (at full throttle) I'll try a .078 and see how it runs. I do love the cam though. Pulls like a freight train now!:D

When setting valves you can adjust the intake valve as the exhaust starts to open and the exhaust valve when the intake begins to close.

My cousin works for HD and he came over an showed me how they do it and I took it as far as going one face at a time after it was set at 4 full turns to fine tune it til i got no ticky ticky i changed my int jet to a 32 main 78 plugs have a lil brown to them. I do get a cough every now an then when i am cruisin round town, but that might be my spike too?? im lookin into better air cleaners!!
