Good for you. Yell if you want copies of the S&S manual pages on changing it out. Pretty simple though.

Oh by the way, do you have the noseless cam cover?

Yeah, sometime in 07 I think they went to the cover that doesn't have the ignition cover (cam sensor) so was just wondering if your had it or not.

not sure we are talking about the same thing there is nothing behind it its just a round piece of billet flat on the back and no ignition wires coming from it!

Ok, you have the cover. They went to the crank sensor with the 05 model hence the reason for using the new cover.
Not a big deal just wondering if you have the new or old cover.

Did you pull the cam cover without removing them?

To properly install everything; lifters and pushrods I would remove them.

Don't forget the shim!!! You gotta measure and put in the correct thickness. The old one may not be right.

I left the lifter blocks in and used magnets to hold lifters up
i mesured the total length of the cam with shim for old unit and checked new cam
was the same # as per instruction sheet so I did not need to remove lifter block guides
i did check the cam gear with .105 guage pins
This also checked out and did not have to change crank gear

Piece of cake. I went with the .600 and it made noticeable difference for me. I readjusted the push rods after I put the cam in. Just beware it really does take a while for the lifters to bleed down, it was cold out and it took almost 18 minutes and a beer for each one!
