First, by 1976 I had been through Nam, had a chopper shop for 6 years, was in a 1% club and had been riding and building bikes for 12 years before you got started.Wow, you sound bitter. Do you drive a Toyota Prius too ? I think you might be needing some anger management classes. And don't call me stupid, you don't know shit about me. And, I don't have an attitude. I've been riding since 1976 so you don't have that much time on me. The question was why do Harley Forum members want to bash others instead of accepting that everyone is different and has varying tastes ? Ride what you like, I've got no problems with it, I'll give you a wave if it's got two wheels and an engine. And I'll ride my American-made Victory Kingpin that does all the shit your Yamaha does and will blow your doors off. Sorry that you hate your Big Dog, makes me wonder why you continue to hang out here ??? Shoo

That's the first rational thing you have posted. I'll be waitin for the cash....... Cuz it seems no one else wants to buy it....How about if we all throw in $20 each to buy his bike and then we raffle it off or we can just part it out ???:roll::roll:

(ok... for some
Hey Franco, How about you meet me in Santa Ponsa in Majorca and we sit around drinking several ice cold beers and we watch and drool over all the gorgeous girls ? I've always wanted to get back there someday..... Shoo![]()

Just give it up already... Gezz...
No one is going to feel sorry for you because the Harley guys don't like your Big Dog... And they are not envious either I'm sorry to say... I have both and have had Harley type bikes all my life and now have a BD in the garage as well as a Fat Boy and a YAMAHA Road Star.
It's the attitude you have they don't like not the bike, like "look at my $40k beautiful bike don't ya wish you had one too" that gets their dander up. You're not special because you have a Big Dog. You're just stupid enough to think so.
Get over it and realize there are many different types of bikes out there for different types of people and not everyone is going to agree on which is the "best" bike.
Right now my Yamaha Road Star ( $7k invested) in my opinion is TWICE the bike of the Big Dog or the Harley Fat Boy but that is just my opinion. Ya, the Harley guys laugh and the Big Dog guys laugh but in the end it's what makes ME happy to ride and what makes ME feel good on it and what will bring MY ass back at the end of the day so go cry in your beer and just get over it..... or buy a few bikes and ride the one everyone likes...
The BEST bike I have ever owned.... (and I have built many and have been riding for 50 years now) Unlike the Big Dog and Fat Boy it starts every time, runs all day long, has 94 HP, 102 CI, can take a 15 mph curve at 45 mph, is smooth and I never have to work on it unless I want to customize it. Does 85 mph in 4th gear (it has 5 gears). Look at the Road Star forum and you will NEVER see a "it won't start" or "It won't run" or "it is leaking oil" thread.... More than I can say for this forum... and you can build the RS into a chopper too...
So stick with your BD dream and put up with the ECh problems, bearing problems, tranny problems, front end problems, wheel bearing problems, control problems and such but know the rest of the biker community knows. Ya, these are beautiful bikes but not without their problems and you can buy mine for 10k now....

:2thumbs: I understand bro. I had a few drinks and just let lose. I meant what I said but maybe if I didn't have a few drinks I'd of said it another way. I guess all I really wanted to say is to each his own and if you love your BD then love it, fight for it and be proud of it but own it for awhile and see if you still feel the same way. I'm proud of my RS (although I really hate to say it being a HD guy) and my BD disappointed me big time. I feel I was lied to by BD and that really pisses me off. In my mind it's like seeing this beautiful girl, buying her drinks and dinner, taking her home and finding out she is a (HE)....Hi Bill, Well to start off, thanks for your service from one vet to another, I know that for years military service went unappreciated and it's just recently been recognized for the sacrifices a lot of us went through. Secondly, I'd like you to show me where i bashed Harley riders ? All I asked was why they were bashing Big Dog owners ? I couldn't understand it. I've owned at least 6 Harleys, I have a Harley eagle tattoo that I got in San Diego when I joined the service and just out of boot camp. So, I do like and have loved several H-D's. And I never have whined on here about getting no respect, i could give a flyin' fuck about who rides what and attitudes. Hey, it doesn't matter because I've met the best people in the world riding my bikes, at bike shows, poker runs, everywhere I go i meet genuine people that are real decent folks. My dream was to build my own chopper by the time I was fifty but life got in the way. Now five years later I'm pissed off that I couldn't find the time to do it. So I now had a chance to buy a factory custom bike for just under $10k and hopefully not have to do shit to it, and i couldn't even get a rolling chassis, engine, and tranny for that amount. I'm happy, you're happy, except for your Big Dog, we all should be happy that we can walk, talk, ride, and wipe our own asses everyday. I sure as hell don't have time for attitudes or who's riding what, that's all personal preference, and what really matters is we all ride and stick together. Maybe I'm wrong, maybe you think that makes me an idiot, but if you're broken down on the side of the road, or have a flat tire or whatever, and I see your bike and you've got trouble, I'm pulling over to help you and i don't give a rat's ass if your on a moped, a Yamaha, or whatever. That's just who I am. I'm sorry if you're offended from me bustin' your balls, it's all in good fun and I didn't mean anything by it. Maybe someday I can buy you a cold one, or two...... Shoo
Cool Bro, I am just 1 hour flight away from Mallorca. I know Santa Ponsa, been there before :2thumbs:Hey Franco, How about you meet me in Santa Ponsa in Majorca and we sit around drinking several ice cold beers and we watch and drool over all the gorgeous girls ? Hey Bill, You remind me of myself, I'm under the belief that you are a self made man and earned everything you've ever owned and worked your ass off to get the things you wanted. I'm the same way, I've busted mine working all these years since I was 14 and scraping by or saving money for the bikes I wanted to buy, no one ever gave me a penny. And like you, I'd be having a fit over a bike that gave me nothing but constant trouble and I'd be selling it too. It's really too bad you've gone through all that shit with your Big Dog. And I'd never laugh at you on your Star, that is actually one very cool looking scoot. I'd be ridin' that all the time too if I couldn't trust my Big Dog to get me home at night, nothing wrong with that. I rode a Kawasaki Vulcan 800 for a few years back around 2002 because at that time that's what I could afford. As reliable as an anvil and a real nice ride too. I've had I think 6 Harleys and I'm happy to say that they were all extremely reliable also. My last one was a 2007 Road King Classic that was painted factory Jake and Elwood Blue, with real gold leaf Harley-Davidson script on the tank. That was a sweet bike, fast with the 103" upgraded engine it got at 30,000 miles, I kick myself in the ass for selling that one. Take care Bro, keep her shiny side up and have fun ridin', Shoo:2thumbs: I understand bro. I had a few drinks and just let lose. I meant what I said but maybe if I didn't have a few drinks I'd of said it another way. In my many years of building bikes when I bought a Baker trans it was a real Baker trans. When I bought a S&S motor it was a real S&S motor. The bikes I built lasted a long time with little problems even when I used Harley parts. This BD has been nothing but a PIA since day one. I have put on only 3k since I bought it a year ago. In the first 300 miles the ECH quit. I put in a WP system and that lasted just 200 miles. I hot wired it and it runs but I never know if I'm going to get back home or if I'm going to make it there. The trans is leaking oil, the heads are starting to leak and the wheel bearings are shot in only 8k miles. That's just not right. Ya, I'm pissed but so are a lot of other guys who bought into it. Can it all be fixed? Yes but at what cost and why when they cost so much money to start with. The word is out about BD bikes that's why they aren't selling on Ebay and CL and I can't give mine away.
Like you I am old school and don't care what you ride. If I see someone broke down on the side of the road I'll stop and help. I've owned a 1936 Harley flathead 80 to a Honda 500 4 cyl, to panheads, shovelheads and everything in between and beyond. All are bikes and it doesn't make a difference to me. I ride over 25k a year on one or another of my bikes and love every minute of it. I love to ride and not wrench on them in my old age so the RS is just what I need. You can laugh at me, the Harley guys can laugh at me, the sport bike guys can laugh but it doesn't matter. I've been there, done that and got the T-shirt.... Maybe someday they will wise up and learn it's riding that matters not what you ride or how much you paid for it.... but how much you enjoy it... and at what cost....

Gary, I love when you post because I don't really read what you say but I sure do like looking at that perfect ass on that British babe in the little picture. Any way we can get that enlarged a bit ? The pic of course, not enlarge her ass..... just hoping, .......Shoo :zdrool:I think a "Group hug" might be in order![]()

I would need the original with better resolution... when I enlarge this one it becomes all pixelated.I would have liked the pic a bit bigger mate to be honest. Maybe Franco can help us out with this one?
