And my batt gets hot real quick
You are not giving any useful information. How long is "quick" ? Does the starter actually crank? Will the terminal get hot even if you don't hit the starter. A shorted headlamp could possibly do the same thing. Any high current draw on the system will cause the battery to get hot including the battery itself as others have suggested. You need to do some troubleshooting to find your problem. These links may help you understand the system.

What bike do you have?
You should start by pulling the battery and having it load tested to make sure it's good. If you don't know for sure that the battery is not BAD you are wasting your time. You have a short either in the battery or the bike which is why it's heating up. You need to start isolating to find the issue.
