Had one on my K9 when doing road trips until the aluminum plate cracked, it ain’t the batwing but did make long rides somewhat easier. Doesn’t help much if bike is on trailer though. Some may say Choppers are not touring bikes but for bar hopping, for me they work for both tasks. Would I use bike only for barhopping I would have 2 Ridgebacks, not Choppa and K9...

I wouldn't ride without one, the wind resistance it takes off your face at 70mph is huge not to mention I don't have to scrape the bugs off my face n sunglasses.

When it's 105 degrees , only your hands feel like the skin is peeling off, not your face.

i took a small bird to the helmet once doing about 60. kinda saw it last second and put my head down and boom it hit the top of my head. my buddy was behind me said all he saw was feathers like someone ripped open a down pillow. he was laughing his ass off until we stopped at the next light. LMAO.

I used to have a big beard and got a bumble bee caught in it once. that made that ride pretty exciting. people probably thought i was schizo.

occasional moisture drops hitting your face on a sunny day makes you wonder if birds piss in the air or if its the guy a quarter mile up the road spitting out his window.

come to think of it maybe its time for a windshield.

I have a smaller detachable windshield from Memphis Shades. It makes a difference on the highway, especially on a cold day. I live in Seattle and don't have the luxury of only riding on nice days. But it's great to be able to pop it off in a half second when the weather is nice or I'm just puttin around.
got a pic

Mine did also, a matter a fact you were the one that pointed it out to me at the River Grill, thanks Buddy:oldbang: :oldlaugh:
The ones Donna sell now are updated and thicker like the one I made myself with a $3 piece of aluminum.:whoop:

I have one on it, it was on it when I bought the bike. Thinking of taking it of though, don't like the looks and when I do 120kmh it looks like the bike gets a bit unstable because of the windshield.....

Personally I don't like windshields on choppers. Never seen one around where I live. I just like the looks of a chopper sans windshield. (Like w/s on HD road kings etc though)

I‘m not a fan of windshields at all. That being said, last year I got hit with a rock in the windshield of my SUV and it left a „rock chip“ the size of my hand. Well, almost that size. That experience made me think and I was actually a bit worried about riding, specially since we got a shit ton of gravel trucks here every day. But I set that worry aside and got promptly rewarded with a hornet stinger to the neck while doing 70...
I‘m not happy!

Yes! After many miles and a bad back, I need it to break the wind. Got my Pitbull 4 weeks ago and just designed a bracket and finished making the shield today. My first attempt at the shield and plan on re-doing it. I'm going to leave out the creases on the edges and just round out the whole thing. Also round out the top better. The bracket was fairly simple to make. Attached some pics. Interested in doing your own let me know and I'll feed you some tips. Bob
yes i would love to try and make one.

Two bolts, windshield on.
Two bolts, windshield off.
Kinda like the sissy bar, two bolts.
Right now, windshield off. Sissy bar on (I had to go get a soda pop).
I really like the Dog better with everything off, looks more like a hot rod to me.

:stupid: :oldhardlaugh: They do look best without all the extra stuff but sometimes it’s necessary to have them on
