whinning high pitched squeal

I have a 2005 Mastiff that squeals when accelerating ,no noise any other time.It can be heard by my riding mates they say they always know it me coming alongside HELP

???? check to make sure the trans is locked in place and the rear tire is aligned and locked in place. if it squeals when accelerating, could it be torque is pulling the drive side pulleys out of line causing the belt to rub on the lips of the rear pulley??????

Spray some silicone spray on the belt. If the squel goes away then do as Woodbutcher suggestion. Alignment and tension.

I think there was a SB out on this and sometimes it required shiming one side of the tranny to get it aligned properly.

Rear pulley and belt! Do what raywood says and that will tell you if thats the problem. Mine use to do the same thing. My buddies said they knew when it was me coming also.

Yup, Raywood is correct. I had that same noise and tore my entire primary off and replaced the bearings thinking that the bearings were failing. Turned out to be my rear belt needed some belt dressing.:(

Damn you and Ray must be hangin out together. What with him tearing down his top end because of a rattle that was actually coming form the gas tank vent tube and you tearing...................
