What's the longest ride you've taken on your hardtail/rigid?

I've ridden a little over 500 miles on an 08 Ridgeback in a day. The heat in Texas was the only issue since it was June. My girlfriend rode on the back of my Ridgeback at the gathering (This was her first time going long distance on any bike). To and from Derrick and Donna's town of Lyons was just over 300 miles I think. She had absolutely no discomfort except her jeans were tight around her right knee cap until Jonathan put a slit in them (They were ripped jeans anyway but she needed another rip where it was tight at her knee cap).

I would be okay with doing 300 to 350 miles a day just because I'd rather be taking it easy and doing really fun stuff. Even driving in a car for 350 miles gets a little tiring unless you're averaging over 100 mph then it's more exciting and you get to your destination quicker and you still have time for other activities that are fun to do.

You have to know how to ride your Rigid for it to be comfortable. But, I find it just as good a ride as all my soft tail bikes but you do have to pay more attention to those bumps in the road or they can be a kick in the ass. It helps to be in good shape and be able to pull your butt off the seat when needed. The frame and back tire do have some flex in them. I can reach back and feel the back fender going up and down along the road. It's just not supper soft that's all.

Had my sled for 10 years bought new in 08' longest one day ride was 400 miles about 5 yrs ago. Now 150 is about normal for me(62 years young). Back issues but still love the ride!!

Flint river to Llions Kansas then back to Flint. How many miles was that? I wasn't keeping track.
Butt got a little numb, back took a hit a few times. The worst of it was my neck. Sore for a few days. May have to get rid of that little bill on the front of my helmet. Maybe it was the 80mph+ for how long.
It sure was fun.

Rode 387 miles on the Pit Bull last year at the anniversary get- together in Kansas. ( honest, we weren't really "lost", we were out "in search of America". Okay, maybe just a little bit lost,,, but we made it back the same night!! ) It was a good ride. and I'd do it again in a heartbeat !!
Yeah, sure glad the only fuel was a left turn for us back into town. When you guys rolled up to that light in front of the station I was glad as I had the only phone with any life left in it for navigation and it was at 8%. Our group was following me. HMAN saved the day. Made it back for a great steak that night about 20 minutes late.

200-250 is the norm that's only about a four hour ride, but a lot of 20-40 rides to get part/etc.
rear tire is about 16-18 pounds absorbs a lot

What amazed me was my girlfriend going on her first real bike ride and it being about 350 miles on a Ridgeback......she's a keeper:chopper:

Her butt didn't go to sleep, her back didn't hurt, and at times she wanted to go faster even when we were doing around 85 mph!

After re-reading this thread, my apologies.
OP was for Hardtail/Ridgid. I have an 04 Mastiff. Nothing soft about a softail.
Still a lot of fun.

I've done plenty of 200+ days on horrible NJ roads. You'll feel it but quickly learn not to ride out front if you're riding with someone. It allows you to see stuff and my buddies are nice enough to point stuff out. I always get a "how'd that one feel" when we come to a stop. I'll sit up in the seat on bigger bumps. I like to think it keeps me honest and avoid riding like a knucklehead.

Not far! My Pit is just not made for a passenger. I had a gal on back and took a low speed bump @ about 20....good thing the sissy bar was there to catch her! She was completely off the bike...
I figure a hard tail/rigid would be tougher on the rider than the passenger since the passenger has their foot pegs directly under them and so their legs can absorb the shock much better than the driver whose legs are extended and thus their spine takes the shock, no?

Ya would think, but the driver can see em coming and ride a bit out the saddle. If the passenger doesnt pay attention.....boing! My grandson found out yesterday. I told him to hang on, but did he listen? He paid closer attention after the first big bump....lol. But he is only 85lbs. He had a blast regardless of the bumps.
