Have you noticed more slippage in wet weather on the pitbull vs a softtail?I've done around 350 in a day on the Pitbull. You feel it, but it aint that bad.
No, not really. I rode from just south of Bartlesville Oklahoma to Wichita in the rain and no problems except for the rooster tail off my front wheelHave you noticed more slippage in wet weather on the pitbull vs a softtail?
I did 800 on an american ironhorse 400 each day two day ride. if you stay on the super slabs you can run all day most are good doing nj to fl next week and right back a bud is moving to nj so i said i would ride up with him.30 minute commute to work has been no problem for me, in fact I enjoy the visceral feel. (roads here are kinda crappy though)
Everyone's telling me it's a barhopper only.
What's the longest ride you've taken on a rigid frame (no suspension)?
Not far! My Pit is just not made for a passenger. I had a gal on back and took a low speed bump @ about 20....good thing the sissy bar was there to catch her! She was completely off the bike...So the question now becomes:
"What's the longest ride you've taken a passenger on your hardtail/rigid?"
The guy at Outlaw cycles says the stretched out frame actually flexes somewhat providing a tad of absorption which is why he prefers to sell Ridgebacks and AIHs for hardtailsNot far! Ive seen Ridgebacks with riders on long runs.....i think the stretched frame helps a lot?
Took my girlfriend on a couple of 300 mile rides and we both had a case of numb ass but I can't say it was any worse than riding my Heritage Softail the same distance. So this basically confirms my thinking that a hardtail is certainly doable for longer trips.
On a bumpy road, when I scoot up just a couple inches on the seat (closer to the fork that has flex in it and farther from the rear wheel with no flex) I feel the bumps less. However for a passenger, they're still above the rear wheel.

Nice pics.494 miles each way. Great ride, but damn my shoulders and neck still hurt. Its doable, but yr gonna pay for it.View attachment 59228
