What part is this?

I found this part laying wedged between the engine and carb on my 2007 mastiff. I dont see anything missing on the bike. I guess someone accidentally left it laying there at some point.

Any idea what it is?

Thanks

So far I cant find where it goes on the bike. Will it hurt anything not being on there?

In the above picture where I'm pointing to a hole under the tank, is that it?

After further research I believe that is the upper engine mount I posted in post 5.

Am I missing a bolt?
Yes, I think bolt on the Mastiff is 1/2"x20x1 3/4" allen head, chrome if you can find one. On other models, the bolt threads into the mount, and no nut is used. The Mastiff has the nut on the end of the bolt. Are there threads in the engine mount? If there is, I'm not sure why they used the nut. Maybe for decorative purposes.

Thanks. So just get one of the bolts mentioned and put it through the hole and tighten the nut down right? I dont think there is threads in the mount so i guess just that nut holds it
Yes add blue loctite the threads. May have a torque spec for that also. I am at work but will look on my sheet when I get home to be sure. Will let you know later unless someone else chimes in. I think the ‘07 mastiff has a spacer that goes in there too.

Ok, that makes sense then. I think Mick is right. There is some kind of a spacer on the Mastiff, IIRC.

Thanks guys for all the help.

I wonder if washers could be used instead of a spacer?
Bigdogpartskingpin.com has the spacer. You could probably get something from the hardware store that would work, if you know how thick it needs to be.
