What is your bike worth?

I have my 07 K-9 listed in the swap meet. I have received nothing but low ball offers. I know you never get back what you put into a bike but this one has $20,000 in extras and I am getting offers for $16,500 and below.

I would like to hear from any of you who are not looking to buy. I would like to know what you think the bike is worth. Do I just need to hold out for the right buyer?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

Darrell

I guess it really comes down to you, how bad or do you need the money? Whats it worth? whatever someone else is willing to buy if for.

To me, mines worth every penny I spent for it, can't put a price on the feeling when I'm riding it.:whoop:

I paid $25K for my Chopper....didn't think I would ever loose as much value as I did. Sold for $12K. At some time you may have to just cut your losses. I feel your pain. The only bikes that ever held some reasonable value for me were HD's. Good Luck.

Lots of dogs out there in the 15k to 18k. Like coach said , who would have thought they would slide as much as they have.

People look at blue book and go from there. I got my 2007 K-9 in January and It has lots of extras and great paint and I spent 18500 with low miles 4000 on it.

i agree completely and I tell people that all the time when they are talking about the value of things when they want to sell. the value is measured by what its worth to you personally, whats someone else is willing to pay, and how bad you need to sell it. no more no less. if your looking for a ballpark figure, see if you can find a few similar bikes on ebay or a similar auction site and see what the final sale price is. (not what they are asking, what they actually are selling for) you have to find a few and average it out if you want to price it to sell quick.

what is the reason your selling? just curious because if you need the money for another toy you may try trading. i tend to get better value when trading than straight cash deals. JMO

Just as a reference I have a friend who has an 08 pitbull and an 08 coyote both with less then 1800 miles for sale at 16,900 and cant find a buyer his k9 same year and 1400 miles sold for the same price in just a few days so IMO I dont think 16500 is to far off but personally I wouldnt sell it now unless you have to this is a buyers market you need to wait it out.

If you're selling that bike for the cause of your step-daughter I woulf contact Barret Jackson, let him know the deal and he might help you out. Straight sale, that bike will sell for $14.000,- +/- if you can find a buyer that has the old school / new school mix taste. Hoping for the best for ya !

X2. Last two 2007 k9's to sell on ebay went for $14.6 and $16.2.

$14-$18 seems to be the range. You'll see them listed for more but asking price and "gettin" price are two different things. Other issue is there are several out there for sale. Hi supply, low demand. Just have to find the right person.

I just read your ad on swap meet. I am so sorry to hear about your daughter. But you asked for opinions on value. I would agree and say 16-18k. If you didnt have all the upgrades you would be looking at more like 11-14k depending on condition. Just opinion from what i see them going for on average. Another idea could be a raffle. Its a good cause and a nice bike. Sell $50 tix and raffle it when you sell about 500. A local MC may be willing to help and you will probably do better. Id be in for a ticket for sure.

Darrell,

I am an hour south of Daytona...not sure if that is good or bad in regards to the market. I listed my '07 chopper with 2500 miles, great condition, on craigslist for $14900. Best I could get was $14k, and that's after dealing with all the idiots and BS emails. It was worth more to me, so I decided to keep it, and being the idiot I am, dumped more $$ in upgrades to it, but I'm glad I did.

To answer your question, IMHO, $16,500 sounds decent to me, based on my experience. Also, I could be wrong, but I don't think most buyers, unless the previously owned a Big Dog, really appreciate the upgrades. More then likely, they are just comparing your bike to the ones they see on Ebay. Again, just my thoughts.

It may not be a case of "low balling" someone as much as it is what the bank will loan. I assume most people are like me and don't have the cash laying around to buy. My credit union doesn't care or consider the $1000's put into it, only the model and year to see how much they'll loan and how long they will stretch it out for. You may have $1000's of extras in it but they don't look at that.

You could always do what PaChopper did and take all the add on's off and sell them separately. Maybe get an extra 1-2K for them.
