Well what thunderheart upgrade module? The ignition module?
I believe thunderheart makes a generic electrical system which wouldn't work with the BDM switches/controls

I have no knowledge of any WirePlus ot Thunderheart EHC systems, for Big Dogs, that eliminates the Ignition module.
Splitlog's original statement still bares out.
WirePlus I don't see where it says it reprograms the ignition curve?

WP only provides a different physical ignition switch (where you put the key)based on their wiring. You still need to retain the ignition module which the stock one is made by thunderheart.
Please read my post above still looking for clarification regarding what thunderheart module you may be referring to? If it's just the ignition module that won't help you any if your computer is Fried. In the pre-03 Big Dogs I believe they used a Thunderheart Computer module to wire the bike however it will not work on 04+ without significant changes to the electrical system and components.

thanks for the links and help. lots of reading to do now.
I am thinking of trying the thunder heart upgrade for the tuning aspect. I would like something to fix the starting issue when batter is not 100%. and some way to prevent the draw on the battery when parked.
5 days parked and computer wont let it start, that's ridiculous.
My Vmax can sit for 6 months and still start .

Knine08, I would recommend the Thunder Heart ignition, I put it on my Mastiff and really felt the bike performed better.
The batteries on all these bikes take a hard hit when starting (hence the compression releases), everyone hear will basically agree with that. Also they need to be kept on a charger when not in use.

The WP modules eliminates the EHC (what you refer to as computer).
The WP modules is not a microprocessor based controller. It is basically a series of relays and switches, so no "computer".
The only reason the replace the ignition switch, is the stock is a low current switch and they use it to supply full power. A better way is to just run the stock switch through a relay, (which should have been incorporated in the module). This will retain your stock key/switch.
It will eliminate the EHC current draw issue.
I would still not recommend the WP system. It is not well developed and not reliable. It also massacres the wiring.
