What are you paying for insurance?

That was my statement earlier, why bother if your covered elsewhere. Even if they have 100K and your injuries are higher than that your other insurance will take over, its not like you'll be throw in the ditch if you run out of insurance.
Like I said earlier, your medical insurance will not cover your mortgage, and other bills if you can't work. There are limits to what medical insurance will cover in terms of long term care also.

You guys may want to actually talk to an agent and get an understanding of what your various policies cover. The time to find our that information is not when you have been hospitalized.

Agree. ANY insurance agent will answer all these questions for FREE. Even if you call up geico, ASK them these questions, they WILL answer them.

So do they throw you in a ditch when that runs out?

After working for 43yrs, I would think SS disability would come in to play, but with no mortgage to worry about at my age and a pension, $401K within my reach as of now, the bills would be taken care of. My wife is also an RN and much younger than me, so I have in home care for free:cheers:

Everyone's circumstances are different, buy coverage for what you feel comfortable with, but if you take an Agents advise on how much insurance you should have, just tell him up front what your monthly income is and he will get you the plan thats just right for you.

…..Comprehensive: your bike is parked and NOT MOVING and gets damaged
…..Collision: damage while moving.....
In Alabama collision is only damage involving another vehicle, if you stuff it in a ditch then only comprehensive will cover it, and here you can get collision without comprehensive.

Gieco was the best price I found. It's $345 per year for full coverage with $300,000/$300,00 $50k uninsured, $100k property. $100 deduct on comp $1000 on collision.
If you log onto their website each section explains what it's for. I tried to max out the things that protect me the most, then got rid of roadside, and the fluff. I thought it was a good deal. Progressive was close at $387, American family which has my vehicles and home was $450 for less coverage.

And at $400 per year savings in 250 years you will have enough saved to pay that $100k medical bill. Talk to someone that has had a stay in a hospital lately.... It doesn't take much to run up a $100k bill. :bang:
I have medical insurance and basically I'm retired thank you.
