Well, on my way home from work today, I decided to stop off at the local post office to mail some bills off and noticed a Washington State Patrol (WSP) who had this young lady pulled over in the parking lot. She was driving a Ford Focus with dark tinted windows. He was sitting in his cruiser writing her a citation when I pulled into the parking lot. He immediately zoomed in on me when I pulled in front of him and parked on the far side of the lot. He confronted me as soon as I stepped out of my car and asked for my license, registration and insurance with no explanation and told me to wait where I was. He went over to his cruiser and finished writing the young ladies citation and handed it over to her. This guy thought he had more revenue with me and said, you know what this is all about? I told him you must be looking at my tinted windows and he responded yep and you're illegal. Well, I stopped him in his tracks and said mine are legal and I told him where I got it done and showed him my certificate from the company that performed the service to my car. He was still very doubtful and started arguing the point and I decided to just shut it up and let him proceed. He asked me to open my door and he pulled out this hand held window tint measuring computer and I measured legal. Just for the record if driving in our state and you get pulled over, the illegal number that you don't want is 24 or lower. Mine came out to 32. I know mine was good to go because when I had them tented, I asked the guy to go dark as possible but keep it legal. So this is your warning. WSP just started this new revenue collection and they’re using this new technology to detect illegal tinted windows. If its not novelty helmets, then it's this now, boy these guys really love me...
