Me and ker have been kicking around the idea of piecing together a voltmeter set up so we could keep an eye on our charging system......this is what I came up with on my end.....I ordered a digital voltmeter off of eBay for $16.....
and a mounting cup cup for $14
got them today.....and hooked them up just to get an idea.....
12.7 volts with the bike off.....
And 13.3 volts at idle.......increasing as the rpm's go up.....I just connected the red and black wires from the gauge to the positive and negative battery terminals.
This gauge also has an alarm that goes off when the volts drop below 11.5
I'm going to put a small toggle switch in the circuit to kill the power when the bikes not running......I think this is a pretty sweet and cheap deal to know how the charging system is working....
Thanks to ker for helping me with this little project.
