Update on Mastiff that fell from lift

Some of you remember I had just installed a Baker open primary on my Mastiff and was having trouble adjusting the clutch, I received some technical advice and proceeded to put the bike on the lift. Unfortunately the bike fell as i turned to get straps from my tool chest. I had the insurance co. tow the bike to a custom shop that built a buddy's bobber. This is where the saga began, The guy estimated $7698 to fix the bike see below;

That was a year ago, I dropped the bike 6/24/12, I towed it to the bike shop 6/30/12. The first sign of trouble looking back now was it took him a couple weeks to send the claims adjuster an estimate, it then took almost a month for him to provide bankng info for the funds o get wired to his account, he then did not touch the bike till sometime in feb or march, and whenever i stopped by he said the painter was trying to match paint and so on and so on... Bottom line is i have missed almost two riding seasons with this guy taking his sweet ass time to get my bike back to me. I am stumped because he has his money except for the $500 dedeuctible.

I live in Baltimore MD I am curious to know the name of the shop so if anyone at all asks for any recommendations on the place or whatnot I know to make them negative......

Call your local TV station that investigates problems and ultimately will get solutions.

Call the local BBB, I would be flaming by now! :angry:

that sucks, sorry to hear about your bad luck and hope you get the bike back soon. BTW, the open primary looks kick ass, even sideways :2thumbs: :lol:

Call GEICO and tell them the status of the repairs. They will put pressure on the shop. GIECO should have made the check out to both you and the Shop. When the repairs are done you sign the check over to the shop and pay your deductible. That was their fuck up if they paid the shop in advance. Let GEICO know that it has been two years and sill waiting for you bike, you need to stay on GIECO's ASS till they get you bike back. Call them everyday if you have too, they will soon get tired of your calls and provide you with the results you need. I have been with GEICO since 1973, they are good about getting things done, but you need to say on them.

Looking forward to retirement
Call GEICO and tell them the status of the repairs, maybe they can put some pressure on the shop. Ask the shop owner to give you written update status reports or record his conversations with you regarding time the repairs will be done. If he fails to meet his own deadline file charges against the MF especially if he cannot have your bike ready within 30 days. Ask him to provide you or ask GEICO to have the shop provide proof that they have purchased all the parts as per the estimate. If the shop can't come up with the parts ask to see proof of the balance of the money paid to him for parts. If he doesn't have the parts or if the money is gone you got screwed. I would take the parts that he does have, take my bike home and find a new shop, and beat the shit out of him on the way out.

Tell Geico what is going on. Also emphasize it sounds like a scam or insurance fraud!
