Yes
final got off my ass and ordered V&H big radius
I kept looking for excuses on why not to spend
but i like the pipes too much compared to stock (punched out) hate the decel noise
Hope the V&H don't make decel noise

Mike - you made a good choice with the V&H. Trotta (thunder cycle) makes shorties for BDM that end in front of the clutch cover so you can adjust w/o pulling pipes - very light weight and they just "hang" without the need for a frame bracket. I ran them for a while, but too loud and too much decel popping, even after I made my own baffles. The V&H sound great - if you get decel popping just increase richness in carb by about 1/4 of a turn it most of it will go away. Also keep in mind you can adjust the clutch with the pipes on but only need to pull them when you want to lube the rod which I only do about once a year....so no big deal to pull them.

What I should say is that you can adjust the clutch with the pipes on but you cant lube the pushrod with the pipes in place. best to pull the pipes and lube and adjust at the same time.
Are you referring to the clutch actuator pushrod?

Thanks Lambov12
I see people are starting to migrate to the 2-1 pipe
I still like the big radius
Certain bike stuff is nice and hard to make it better
Those v&h pipe style is in my opinion excellent

It is an easy job adjusting the clutch cable with the Big radius pipes, less than 10 minutes.:2thumbs:

Enjoy..

I've got 10k on my bike and never needed to make that adjustment. Pulling a pipe takes 5 minutes. Do the math.

Dealer did my jetting and I have no decel pop. Pipes sound good. However, you will have annoying decel pop when baffels are removed.

Just cut down a 7/32" allen wrench and buy yourself a good 11/16" offset box end wrench and you are able to adjust the clutch with no problem. To remove that threaded cover just take a small piece of wood and place it against one of the indents and hit it downward with a hammer on the other end. The wood will not damage the chrome and it makes the cover loosen up very easily. You do not need to lube your pushrod at every clutch adjustment. Keep in mind if you remove the exhaust system make sure you install a new exhaust gasket before install.
The 2-1 V&H is a nice pipe to go with as well, not as loud but a very nice looking and sounding pipe.

Most all of them will have some decel pop unless you are EFI not carb. Make sure you adjust your fuel/air screw on your carb after installing the new pipes.
Not a bad idea to remove the screw and check to make sure you don't need a new one. Remove it , check to make sure the needle is still smooth on the taper end and will have NO groove worn into it, if it has any bit of slight groove, replace it. It's only $5 or so.
-Thread the needle back in carefully, until you feel it very lightly seat.
-Back it back out 1 1/2 turns.
-Start bike, let it run to operating temp.
-Turn your accelerator pump screw all the way in, counting the turns as you go in.
-now go over and slowly turn the fuel/air screw in (clockwise) until the motor starts to stumble in RPM
-Then slowly turn back out (counter clockwise) and count the turns till it again starts to stumble and die off.
-Now turn back in(clockwise) to go half way between these two points of stumble.
**After you adjust that, go back to your accelerator pump screw and turn the screw back out to the number of turns you had before (usually around 21/4-3 turns out)
-blip your throttle a few times and make sure you have good response, if not adjust your accel. pump more (in or out depending on if it makes it better or worse)
-adjust your idle and take it down the road for a test ride

You may find that the stock jetting will work better for you. 74 main and 29.5 pilot
Might be a something you will just have to find for yourself, ride it for a while and then check the plugs, if they are very black I would go back to your stock jets.
