Trip Review (Pic heavy!)

So I got the chance to go on a 2 week long motorcycle trip with my parents through South Dakota and Colorado. And I took it! Let me start off by saying that it's lots of fun to get to ride with your parents like this (Both of them riding Big Dogs too!) and generally spend time with them. My dad has a motorhome and we pulled the bikes behind it. We drove through Oklahoma, Kansas and Nebraska. Not much there but highway miles. Here we were at our campsite in Custer, SD.

First night we got caught in the rain going out to eat. go figure, but it dried up quickly enough.
The second day we went on to Mt. Rushmore and the surrounding areas.

Found a nice lake to stop at and rest.

(We like to take pictures of our bikes.)
The next day we rode up through Sturgis and then down through Spearfish Canyon. Spearfish was a Great ride. A must-see if you're anywhere near the area. The road runs next to a little mountain river that was flowing backwards. Couldn't figure it out for the life of me. :loony:

And this pretty mountain lake. Love those pines.

So then we were off to Colorado. First night there we saw all kinds of wildlife. All I managed to snap was this moose and her calves.

Our first ride there it rained on us too! (We haven't seen rain Forever back in Oklahoma) On the way back, mom's pillion pad flew off her fender and where did it land, but in the handy-dandy roadside stream?

We finally found it after about 35 minutes, got even wetter and we were on our way again.
It Did make for some beautiful scenery though.

The next day we rode up through the Rocky Mt National Forest Road. It was a great ride. We made sure to ride it both directions.

There were all kinds of wildlife in the Nat'l Park. And they were tame too.

My dad and I at the Continental Divide

The next day we rode over Independence Pass and through the Aspen Grove

The last day we got caught in the rain Again. We were in Vail and had to drive back to Breckenridge in it. COLD rain, too.

It was a great trip and I plan on making it again someday! :flag:
P.S. I'm making a donation to support all the bandwidth I just took up. Seriously.

Wow, what a great trip report!! I was born and raised in CO and have been to Sturgis (and rode the Hills) five times so the country was familiar. I love the areas you traveled thru and your pics are superb!:2thumbs:

What an awesome trip! I love the nature moments you captured like the moose and rainbow. That is the coolest that you all have Big Dogs and get to ride like that together. What a precious blessing and great memories. Thanks for sharing. Made me smile.
