Transmission seal repeat failures

Being a new dog owner, buying a 2002 pitbull with unknown mechanical history and 5000k on the clock I decided to put the dog in for a 10k service. After purchasing the bike privately I noticed a leak from the transmission seal, service center confirmed this.
A new seal was installed, still leaked. I sent the bike back and they installed a HD seal, still leaking??? Has anyone else had this issue? I questioned the fact that I was charged for a quart of tranny oil when the service manual calls for 20oz, I was told they only use 20oz but charge for a full quart.
I should mention that the service center has a great reputation, being a large custom center here in the bay area.
Did the baker 5 speed 2002 transmissions require the spacer washer I have been reading about on the newer models? The service center is now talking possible casting issues with the transmission.
This will be the first and last time I send the bike out for a service.
(put an extra 170 miles on the dog on Friday, great experience, great bike and sore ass)

Ride safe!

I recently purchased a used K-9. The shop had over filled the primary and the transmission. Oil came out near the transmission seal and at the starter motor.

I found that 20 oz is on the high side of the dip stick mark. I only fill to the lower mark which is a bit less than the 20 oz listed in the manuals. Transmission runs fine, no funny noises.

The bottom of the gears just need to touch the oil to pick it up.

No more leaking.

I had a problem with mine puking oil out through the vent pipe after it was serviced with synthetic. Come to find out the oil was too thin of a viscosity. Switched back to conventional. While my primary was off I serviced the transmission and noticed that when the oil starts leaking out through the mainshaft seal it shows full on the dipstick. Also noticed while replacing the clutch that the mainshaft bearing was about to fail. The bearing cage was missing and the ball bearings had marks on them. I have read that the mainshaft has been giving some owners problems. Baker has beefed up the shaft and decided to stop using the o-ring. I think they still require the washer/spacer between the bearing and clutch. Still working on it and haven't rode it since the repair and new updated Bandit clutch.

If the primary is removed, the trans seal will continuously leak while on the kickstand. Did it start leaking immediately, or did you ride it a little? Has anyone ever checked the transmission shim? Do you need a hammer OCC style to get the motor plate on/off or does it slide off smoothly?
