ive been having some issues with my tranny filling up with primary fluid, thanks to this site, discovered it was the mainshaft seal.... now my question is do i have to remove the entire primary casing to remove the seal? or is just the front half enough?

You can get to it by removal of the primary outter cover, and clutch assy.
Note that if the shaft has any play at all the seal will not hold.
If the shaft has play its transmission rebuild time as the bearings are going bad.

There is a seal puller tool , but you can do this with care using a screw driver, just lightly pry from multiple directions from inner seal (poke screw driver from inside seal) being carefull not to go to aluminum and accidently score surface. Reinstall using pipe or deep socket of slightly less diameter. I have used a block of wood and gently tapped from all directions until seated, but you have to be so carefull as not to bind or damage the seal. Bikers Dream of Atlanta as well as Baker, has this seal. Auto stores may have one too, would bring in old seal and have them match it. I just put a new seal in mine today so what a weird coinsedence?
