SKOGDOG

One of the old ones.
Thanks to Chacha, Andrew and John for competent professional discussion in terms even I can understand and use on my K9.
Every time something gets handled like this, I learn a bunch...... It's an education to ride on your coat tails gentlemen.

Before you tighten the rob bolts use a mike on the frank journals to check for proper clarence. 30 weight earl recommended.

Sorry, couldn't resist. :D
Yea, you know the "Rob Bolt" is left of the Michelle journal and inboard of the Carla bearing

No, that's just me fat-fingering the typing. It's for the "Rod" bolts on a X-Wedge.

One of the joys of tracking information for three different bikes.

Lol  Well you should note the values per bike...yes? Just a thought :D
I figured it was something like that because Harley has not put nuts on the Rocker arms since the shovel heads :D Keep in mind, just because its a V-Twin motor, does not necessarily mean it's setup the same way as another. The X-Wedge is a totally different breed of motors. More similar to the motor in my Yamaha Warrior, of which is all plain bearing design, similar to that of a car motor...will probably last well over 100,000 miles with not a single problem. (I'm talking about my Warrior motor, not S&S...can't say what that will last...if only they would make a cam belt that would last more than 15,000 miles :bang:)

First of all Chacha thanks for sharing.

One thing I see and just checked my 07 manual is the top motor mount on your list calls out 45 Ft lbs and the 07 manual call for 80 ft lbs.

On quick question for the 46.15 percent that use the torque wrench 100 percent of the time. do you torque the battery bolts or not? I know it's trivial, and am just curious also the allen screws on the stock screws do you torque them also.

Now I have to change mine to 99% :D

What happened to the Adhesive sections of this thread??????? :lol:LOL.

I myself fuc*ing HATE Electronic Torque wrench"s.........When I assemble a engine I ALWAYS use a set of DIAL INDICATOR style torque wrenchs that are strictly for assembling engines, they get used for nothing else other than that...........They are the most accurate style of torque wrench out there........period..........and the whole +90 Degree thing is the most fuc*ing retarded thing ever..........why the fuc* cant the Manafacturers just figure out what the fucking torque value needs to be......and make it JUST THAT,that would make it sooooooo much easier for everyone......If what ever your torquing down needs to be 40 FT LBS..........fucking make the final torque 40 ft lbs...........not 20,then 25+ another 90 degrees....... THIS has always aggravated the shit out of me.......

I'am outta Sam Adams now........shit, gotta go....hehehe

As has been stated before, it's just a torque so I don't expect anyone here to get their panties all wadded below their plumber's cleavage.

I'm going to Sven-It and say, I have a 90 degree tool with incremental marks as if timing a cam to blueprints of a degree. The Sven says, how could you wind up on another degree, tag the valves as - if the tool is that accurate and now add 10 more pounds on top of that in [way less] than a 1/64th of a degree farther. Sven now says, oops we missed the 90 and that computes to 10 pounds or more from the other 90's? Hard to fathom

Now, please don't tell me this one is shite... it's the one I bought two years ago! :D
It looks to be good. Usually the digital is within 1% accuracy no matter the setting. So it's more accurate than the click type. Mine is like the one above, only put out by Snap-On. Gives Ft lbs, In lbs, Nm, and degree...I love it.
