You should never have looked! What you don't know can't hurt you!



In the past, most trailer tires were rated at 62 or 65 mph. Today, some of our tires are "rated" (speed symbols) at 87 mph (N), some at 75 mph (L), some at 65 mph (J: ST tires) and some at 62 mph (J: non-metric tires).

Looks like I'll have to get some "E" rated :oldlaugh: That should shake the shit outta the bike until I get there:oldhardlaugh:

I have no problem just putting around.... Speed don't really mean that much to me anymore......I totaled out an 09 softail in April of 2015......I was running about 20, the other guy was running 40 when he decided to left turn into my lane. I feel very fortunate to not remember much of what happened after that. It prolly would have scared the shit out of me. But most of all, I feel fortunate to still be alive. I have become very appreciative of this time I have on this earth....and I don't want to do things to jeopardize it. It's like I tell all my friends when we part ways.....be safe, cause there are millions and millions of people out there, and everyone of them wants to kill you. Just sayin.

Well when I had my first K-9 I was out on the PA turnpike coming home from getting the bike serviced.
I was in the passing lane doing about 70 with traffic, when I look to my right and I see this guy driving and he just had that look that made me think, "Hell no, I don't want to be near him". Cracked the throttle to get past him and several other vehicles.
When I looked down I was doing somewhere around 105 (already had backed off throttle). I was amazed since it was smooth as silk, no death grip and no wind trying to push me off the bike -- My other chopper at 80 if I have the helmet on wants to rip my head off and it vibrates so bad I got calluses on my ring finger.

Generally, if I'm on a highway I'm staying with traffic, down here that could mean 70 easy. I like having that extra when I need it but that's where I leave it -- on reserve (For those occasions like on my recent trip where when I went to pass an 18 wheeler on a 2 lane, he decided to speed up -- even my girl appreciated the extra, when that happens she just buried head into shoulder till I was around the asshole then she noticed as we were slowing down that we were over 90.
