HELP!!! I took my 08 ridgeback out for a rideu having previously mad several trips on it earlier in the day with no problems anyways im sitting at a red light and the bike dies, I attemput to restart it and hear a clunk clunk clunk click click click sound, all lights speedo are working but the lights flicker when I try to start it. I just picked it up from a shop today with a new battery installed! Wtf? I ended up pushing this bastard two miles back to my house with many many breaks along the way. Can anyone help me diagnose this problem??

The bike would not die from a bad battery while running right because the charging system should be giving juice to the bike? If battery where bad it would just not start up the next time it was shut off. I may be wrong though.

at idle the charging system is not enough. being that they just put the battery in it i would check to make sure that the connections are good and tight. hope this helps

found my bike was doing the same thing every now and then. Turned out the gas cap was not venting.

MUST HAVE 12.6 to 12.8 VOLTS AT THE BATTERY MINIMUM.
310CCA or better AGM type battery.
Battery connections and lead wire crimps TIGHT?

"clunk clunk clunk click click click sound"
Is the starter seized?

Disconnect the starter solenoid GREEN wire and take a heavy 16ga wire from the + battery terminal and with the bike in neutral touch the starter solenoid connection and see if the starter turns over.

Let us know what you see.

You need to get your priorities straight. I'm a little disappointed in you. Whats more important.......getting married or getting the dog back on the road :D Congrats on the marriage :2thumbs:

my 05 k9 would do the same thing when l hit the starter button. it turned out the compression reales would stick half open .it would then draw to much amps and shut down the starter curiuct. if you push the realses down it will start.
