Thanks Boys...

Its not a big deal with the front end. As Al said... its only .300. So basically shave off .150 on each side. Its part of fabricating and customizing stuff.

Yeah the belt looks great. Can't wait to get the chrome covers on it. Just waiting for my front pulley shim... need to order one.

Thanks Cutter... we just got back from UofM Mott Hospital to see the niece. She's so baeutifull and tiny. 5# of pure innocence... but that has put a stop on doing anything to the bike the last couple days... visiting the baby, sister and bro in law. And I'm talking about Natron

Gas...did you have any other issues with the trees working on your K-9...I have the same year as your sled and I was wondering if you had to make any other modifications to the bike...is the fork stop internal?

I re-use the internal bdm fork stop. But I replaced their gay torx bit bolts holding them to the lower with some nice stainless allens.

Gay torx bits and internal fork stop.

The modifications were just as I listed above. That being said, you would need to check your bike after installation. I have heard that it is hard to find 2 dogs who's tripples are the same. Something about multiple companies making them for big dog.

Gas...once again you're awesome. This one may be over my head...I'm gonna check w/my shop and get their opinion. The trees are just so damn wicked though! I can't wait to see your completed ride.

Hey I do what i can to help. Glad you like what I'm doing. Its at the point now where I'm day dreaming about its completion. Unfortunately I have been busy playing good uncle and havne't got anything really accomplished.

did polish my calipers, install my dyna beads, and pick up some hardware for the power pacc installation.

Ok.. finally got some stuff done to the bike after a week off due to work and the niece thing.

But grab the laptop for pics and tunes...

Now lets get some stuff done... enough slackin off!!

Got rid of the stock crank sensor.

Installed the new "speedo plug" in its old place

Then I got some shims and buttoned up the Doherty Power Pacc backing plate

In the meantime I got to work on the air cleaner.

The S&S Desperato

Some clear silicone and the backside of the insert

line it up and set it. Leave it sit for a day

Install the Doherty air filter

And cover it with the improved S&S Desperato

Wanted to get to work on the lower wiring harness so I started with the lisense plate

Then I put in my freshly polished rear caliper

Then with new copper washers install the switch and hose

Ran the wire to the oil press sensor and installed the chrome cover

Then installed the Crane Hi4 ignition in the Jims cam cover

ran the wire out the bottom

Put the Jim's nose cone cover on "for now"

Then I started into the main section of the wiring. I remember this being a pain to get thru pulling it apart... and it definately is a sloppy mess now...

Adding the alarm into the pic definately can put you in overload.

Let us not forget to di-electric grease every connection and shrink wrap.

Then about 3 million zip ties later, alot of head ache, un-doing, re-doing cause a wire is caught or under instead of over...

It starts to come together.

Install the horn and its brackets which also hold the side cover pins.

Tuck and push... add on the side cover

You can see the wiring very well zip tied and out of the way. Keeping it away from any of the pinch points or moving objects like that belt.

Even got the other side in.

After dealing with all of that... I needed to do some more appealing to the eyes mods...

Mount up the left forward control with all its new, drilled, polished, and painted glory

Well I might as well get out the new Wicked Image shifter linkage

Turn it out to the old stock length and mount up

Pull out the Arlen Ness Rad II kickstand

At the end of Day 7 the bike is really coming together. I just wish it wouldn't have taken so much time doing the wiring being its such low impact on the coolness.

But you could always judge the progress by what's left on the parts tables... and they are starting to get a little thin

I'm hopping to get back out either Mon or definately Tuesday...

Need to rebuild the rear master cylinder, mount that forward control. Then mount up the front caliper and line. Install the battery and seat, finish hookin up the throttle cables, and install the foot pegs.

Still waiting on some motor mount, and front end pieces. Plus been workin on a new headlight too. Then once I get in my new connectors, I'll wire up the back bone and install the gas tank.

once I get there and get the new ignition, key, and coils wired... it will be time to start this thing.

:hi: hey gas, go easy on taping up the filter cover with the silicone on it. takes forever for that shit to cure if it is in a sealed area. i'd hate for the flames to fall off on the maiden flight of the phoenix.:2thumbs:
