Ok.. finally got some stuff done to the bike after a week off due to work and the niece thing.
But grab the laptop for pics and tunes...
Now lets get some stuff done... enough slackin off!!
Got rid of the stock crank sensor.
Installed the new "speedo plug" in its old place
Then I got some shims and buttoned up the Doherty Power Pacc backing plate
In the meantime I got to work on the air cleaner.
The S&S Desperato
Some clear silicone and the backside of the insert
line it up and set it. Leave it sit for a day
Install the Doherty air filter
And cover it with the improved S&S Desperato
Wanted to get to work on the lower wiring harness so I started with the lisense plate
Then I put in my freshly polished rear caliper
Then with new copper washers install the switch and hose
Ran the wire to the oil press sensor and installed the chrome cover
Then installed the Crane Hi4 ignition in the Jims cam cover
ran the wire out the bottom
Put the Jim's nose cone cover on "for now"
Then I started into the main section of the wiring. I remember this being a pain to get thru pulling it apart... and it definately is a sloppy mess now...
Adding the alarm into the pic definately can put you in overload.
Let us not forget to di-electric grease every connection and shrink wrap.
Then about 3 million zip ties later, alot of head ache, un-doing, re-doing cause a wire is caught or under instead of over...
It starts to come together.
Install the horn and its brackets which also hold the side cover pins.
Tuck and push... add on the side cover
You can see the wiring very well zip tied and out of the way. Keeping it away from any of the pinch points or moving objects like that belt.
Even got the other side in.
After dealing with all of that... I needed to do some more appealing to the eyes mods...
Mount up the left forward control with all its new, drilled, polished, and painted glory
Well I might as well get out the new Wicked Image shifter linkage
Turn it out to the old stock length and mount up
Pull out the Arlen Ness Rad II kickstand
At the end of Day 7 the bike is really coming together. I just wish it wouldn't have taken so much time doing the wiring being its such low impact on the coolness.
But you could always judge the progress by what's left on the parts tables... and they are starting to get a little thin
