Terrible rattle coming from headlight area

Energy One
Today while riding i started to hear a horrendous rattle coming from what i thought was the speedometer. I took the speedo off, and now I realized the noise is coming from the headlight, however the two allen heads holding the housing are absolutely rock solid...any insight as to what could be rattling so awfully in the headlight housing, and how do I get inside it to replace it?
Thanks

Does your bike have the HID kit? could be the ballast rattling inside your housing? just a thought.

The stock light has a screw out bezel. Sometimes they come out nice n easy, sometimes you have to order a new bucket, well maybe thats just me!! A search should show several threads...

I had/have the same thing but my setscrews are as tight as need be. When I touch the gas cap, the rattle goes away. It is really annoying at 2500rpm...

i searched and found out how to replace the bulb. when i rev the bike and hold onto the bucket, it stops rattling, so i would think its the entire housing and not something loose inside, however those bolts holding it in are as tight as possible...I just cannot figure out for the life of me what it is. Now, I have the pleasure of putting that damn speedo back together.

I ran into a rattle like this on an 03. Turns out the head light bucket was cracked where it mounts to the base. The guy was to cheep to buy another headlight, so I JBWeled it on the inside. It been several years, and quite a few miles ago, and it's still holding.

I've had what sounds like the same rattle. Only at a certain rpm too. it sounds bad. Like somethings going to fall off. I too thought it was the gauge bezel or something in that area. Have yet to find it. Headlight is solid too. Keep us posted on what you find.

I'm with V on this one! several members have had the tank vent tube become loose and cause a lot of racket...

In addition to the loose vent, check the bolt under the headlight, it may be loose or breaking...

there a "nipple" that is about a half inch about the ledge.. made a loop around the nipple so it stays above the ledge.. not the answer.. but it will work for now
