I dont understand the hate  What were they supposed to do..? Seems to me, BDM tried what they could. Not enough people were buying. I suppose they could've stuck with a smaller business model. You know, had less overhead, built fewer bikes, etc.

Although, somewhere around 2004-2005 they really started taking off. After 10yrs to sell 10,000 bikes, they sold 10,000 in a couple years... I think they were well on their way to BIG TIME.

However, when the shit hit the fan in late 2008... many companies were caught by surprise. Look how many people lost fortunes in the stock market at that time. They werent all idiots. The truth is very few people saw that crash coming. I personally know many people who lost their jobs. I know several who lost their houses.

Ive been in business for myself for 20yrs. 2009, & 2010 are by far the worst 24mos Ive had in business in well over a decade. Even with minimal debt, & a long tenure.. I can only take so much more of this economy before I'll be job hunting

My point ..... it is, what it is. I think alot of people would have just took the money & ran. It appears Sheldon tried to make it work at all costs. Not to mention, if you bought a brand new bike from BDM in the last few months..... c'mon.... this has been rumor for quite some time. Hell most of here at BDB were worried this was gonna happen a year ago :loony:

Im glad I got the bike I wanted. Im glad I have a 2004 (before they got too big). Plus I never liked the look of the right side drive :D

Warranty shmarranty. Ive never bought a warranty on anything ever. Only warranties Ive ever had were the standard ones given. Although, at the time I bought my dog... HD was only 1 year, & I believe BDM is the reason HD upped theirs.

I suppose if I had just plopped down 30K on a brand new bike.... I'd be a little worried about not having a warranty in case I got a lemon but, again I would go back to.... this really isnt a new revelation. I feel for the uninformed that may be new to bikes that went for a new BDM in the last couple months but, rather than be upset about something that could happen to their bike... I'd enjoy it & worry about a problem when it happens. There are plenty here, as stated, that will go the extra mile to keep us all on the road

The bottom line is it sucks, but if your bike is fine then the warranty means nothing. Just ride and stop complaining about it, not a single thing you can do about it now anyway. RIDE, RIDE, RIDE!

So what is it that you want from this forum Miami? We get it that you're upset about this. Why do you just keep carrying on about it? I'm guessing half of your 88 posts are complaints about the company. Like they're telling you. If it's to much for you just move on next thi g we'll here is another class action suit someone is trying to put together.

Matter of Fact, if you want to know my negoitating skills? Here it is...I bought a Brand New 08 K-9 from a dealer in NM which has several dogs on the floor til this day that's been getting old in the corner of his showroom...I went in there last year with 20k and took a 08, Fuel injected out of his Dog Pin....It sat so long, the tires was dry rotted, so BDM replaced them, re-programed my computer, fixed a scratch on the bottom of the tank, performed all the recalls, and gave me a factory tour...I appreciated that...What I dont appreciate, they told me they were gonna be there for me...Well, they lied... :bang:
Sounds to me like you got a smoking deal... AND takin care of..? :loony:

Once again they sort of took care of me...Once I hassled them...It wasnt easy...I know everyone here think my threads are stupid, but nobody here would pay Top Dollar for anything else without a warranty if they can afford it...

Yelling on this forum is still not gonna make that happen.

Is your scoot in good condition right now? What does it need to get it in top condition? Is it in basic ride shape?
Let me know and I will make you an offer, meet you half way and take this off your hands. I also gotta point out that you seem to have only looked at the price of the scoot when you bought and not at the condition. BDM delivered to your dealer a fine new scoot, and somehow the dealer did not properly care for it, and yet Sheldons Team took care of all the issues (caused by the dlr selling to you at the cheaper price), and yet, you still are bitching? Had you bought a brand new bike at full price I bet you would have been better off, and so would this forum.
You are what is wrong with society these days.

My dealer sends his Tech to every training offered and he is highly skilled and gets it right the first time, as do many tech's around the country. read these forums, there are some seriously good dealer wrench's out there..

.It only cost about 18K to produce any BDM...They sold them to the Dealers for about 24k, the rest was pure profit....
Just because you say it does not mean it is true. Your facts are not correct, but you are more than welcome to believe what you want. I have spent enough time educating you, so I can only suggest you sell the scoot to a motorcyclist and if need be I can steer you to your local kymco dealer.

At this point, what are you reasonably seeking??

Yes, my bike is good, matter of fact it's getting a better paint scheme on it...I'm sorry, some BDM painters were on Drugs during some of the paint jobs...Dont worry, I think I have beaten thread to death and got my point across and educated a few folks who paid too much...P.S. dont kick me off the forum yet, it needs truth bearers like myself...
Hey sunshine, you haven't educated anyone. All you've done is showed yer ass.
You need to sleep it off tonight, get up early in the morning, take some nice clear pics of your bike, and put it on craigslist.
I don't think a BigDog was the right choice for you.

I've stayed silent on this whole BDM closing down thing so far but for fucks sake. I live in England where Big Dogs are not sold, BDM couldn't have been more unhelpful to me if they tried so I personally couldn't care less that they've gone under (I do feel for the employees though), I've had problem after problem after problem with my bike but I'm still here and the bike is still on the road and actually running fine at the moment. If I can manage then anyone can. It's a bike at the end of the day and anything can be fixed, warranty or not, BDM or not. Stop fucking crying about it and get on with it. Anyone who buys a bike like this at the mercy of a warranty hasn't really thought it through have they. Sell it, move on, have a coke and a smile and shut the fuck up

I have 3 months left on my warranty. If the bank wants to buy mine back they will have to pay double what I paid. I am riding it into the ground.
