I'm about to.... I have v&h big radius now and the stock ones sitting around.
I'm going to pull the baffles and cut the pipes down. Then install an adjustable baffle like Ray posted in a recent thread. More of experiment than anything else.

When I had my stock exhaust I modifed it. If you look inside the muffler you'll see what looks like a 1" plug. Drill those out. It's a weird muffler(s). I can't remember how many plugs, but I think there are either 4 or 8. You'll have to disassemble it and look in each end to know what I'm talking about. The drill bit needs to be about an 1" or 3/4" and as long as possible to reach inside. You might have to find a long enough rod to help punch the plugs out. The sound is a bit louder, but raspy. You'll gain some power, I'm guessing 5hp. The muffler is VERY restrictive and with the plugs drilled out the motor is still trying to force exhaust gases thru some restrictive passages. You'll need to up the intermediate jet to .031 to get you in the ball park.

remember though with no baffles you will probably gain top end but can lose a bit at the bottom - wide open pipes are not recommended for typical street use, especially short ones - not saying you're doing away with the baffles altogether but this gives an idea of the possible affects - as Black Dawg says you will need to retune the carb

Modify Stock Muffler With EFI K-9

Does anyone know if the Big Dog EFI system will automatically compensate for any lower back pressure changes caused by a modified stock Supertrapp muffler? I want take a stock muffer and drill out the plugs a little to improve the sound. I don't want it a lot louder, just a little deeper. However, I certainly don't want to do this if it will it will negatively affect the EFI system. Thanks.

I have a set of stock pipes off my 06 K9. They are a little rough looking from getting moved around alot. Somebody can have them if they want to experiment. You got to come and get them though. I don't want to mess with shipping them.
