Speedometer Replacement

I have a 2007 K-9 and I am thinking of replacing the speedometer with a Dakota Digital. (right now I have the stock analog) My current one seems to have some issues with the tach doing funny stuff like not existing or all lights lit and sometimes flashing. Its pretty intermittent but I also noticed the case is getting moisture in it when I wash it and the speed needle likes to bounce around while i'm going down slab. My question is mainly can I buy the digital and one for one swap it out? Do I have to buy the interface box since im going digital???
Any help would be appreciated.

I changed to Dakota on my 06 K9 like many others on here. Very easy, plug and play and set the odometer. (Not sure what you are referencing as the interface box? You don't need anything else)

Thanks for the info. I actually ordered the spedo last night. Im stoked to get it. Looks like a simple install. If you search for dakota digital speedometer on ebay youll see what i mean about the interface box. (not that it matters)
