Picked up a 2003 Pitbull on a trade 9,902 miles on the odometer.
Haven't touched anything, then noticed no odometer reading, speedo works fine.Haven't seen the speedo sweep at start only needle goes below 0 then back to 0.
Looked at and pulled speedo sensor, wiped off, reinstalled. Pulled speedo out, apart,no broken wires, put back together, mounted in console, still the same,no odometer.
Any suggestions as to whats next other than a dakota digital replacement ?
That's what I did and haven't seen a problem since, Dakota

I just installed Docs new harness and computer
Mike, so are you saying after you installed the ESC your speedo was still not working properly? I had the exact same issue with my speedo before I installed my ESC and after the install not one problem with the speedo, by the sound of what you were saying, I thought for sure the ESC installation would fix your speedo issues.

Thanks all for the input.
I'll have to break down for the dakota swap, after that install, bike will be for sale only because I can't ride 2 at the same time and the wife is just alittle too short to reach the controls without squirmin around.

You can send speedo to auto meter for repair.
I just talked to them, it's a no. They will sell you replacement speedo for the 05-08 bikes but that's it. I have a needle not working on my millennium and will just use the digital option until Dakota starts selling theirs with white numbers, then I'll buy one for the bagger and one for the K-9. Chris at BDM will make me the rest so it will all work with the bagger, on the K-9 its a direct replacement.

Get her a push seat from Seatmaker or Sterling. These bikes aren't worth piss lately and you get so much more bike than you do a Hardly. I just picked up an 06 Mastiff for the wife for 8k. It's got some ticks but they'll get sorted soon and it'll be a damn nice bike for about $8500 total.

Try this guy Red line gage works . They will repair your Speedo! 1-661-259-8891. His name is Shannon.
Thanks for the input. I did call him and he was very pleasant to deal with, but unfortunately cannot fix them. So, I'm back to the Dakota option with a harness from BDM.... :(

I went through this last year, 7 speedo sensors later I put a small diode in the power wire and BANG, fixed it.
But I still changed to a new Autometer so it would match the analog tach, both Autometer....love em for sure.

SO there is a ORIGINAL '03 Chopper speedo laying here in the shop.
