Speedo Disassembly

Two questions:

1) How do you take the speedo apart? I've got it all broken down and have the speedo itself separated from the housing and everything... but trying to open it so I can see if I can fix the needle.

2) I've got the medallion speedo on the shelf, but haven't installed it because I also have the BDM Wires+ to install. Can it be installed without running the fourth wire as needed?

You have to pry the chrome bezel off the front, it destroys the speedo

So if I can't get into it, then there's no way to try and fix the needle I assume?

Unfortunately no

No you can open them. They are crimped closed on the back side with the chrome bezel. If you take a fiber stick and carefully go around and around the rearward edge of the chrome ring it will allow you to separate the chrome ring and then you can access the internals. I have done it several times.
