Standard NGK V-power plug should be all you need......the Iridium is nothing but problems............Good Call on the Needle:up:!!!!!!

I've got Iridium plugs in my Dog, no issues yet. Bike runs fine. I only got them because they were recomended somewhere on BDF. Only being new to these beasts i was keen to get the best and accept the recomendation for this forum. That was over a year ago since they were changed. I have done over 10 klm on them since.
Just to hyjack the thread slightly. We are having a heat wave here at present and of course i went for a trip on the bike. i started out with a full tank of gas, but at 100 miles i had to go for the reserve, my fuel had evaporated. Temp was 45 deg C, engine oil temp was 200F, never got any hotter and bike ran fine, not so the rider had to stop at every bar to replace lost fluids. Anyone had an issue with fuel evaporating??

Hey bigdogtech01,
what do you think about the E3s? I have been running them now for over a year no problems.

I have no experience with them myself. But have talked to a couple car guys and they tell me they are no better than a normal plug, you're just paying more. I have always had good luck with the standard plug, and if you have a stock street ignition and street motor (meaning not being used on a race track) Dyno numbers show the standard plug performs better or the same as that of a non standard type (Iridium, Platinum, etc...)
I know of a few manufacturers that were having problems with the ceramic around the electrode breaking, and then would fall into the cylinder and cause major damage to the motor. I believe this was the V type electrode ones made by Champion and sold to H-D for the Scremin Eagle line.

Franco,

My rear runs hotter than the front - Not much I can do about it. However mine is due to the FSD pipes the rear pipe is much shorter than the front. Looking cool has its price its called HP. Thats another reason why 2-1 pipes are hands down much better performance wise than 1-1.

I agree with everyone else way to lean man - I ran a 32 for a bit while I ordered a 31 but as everyone else stated go down to the 31

Oh well, finally today I went down from 32 & 78 to 31 & 76 yup I was running it too rich...

Now the plugs have the porcelain tip totally white... but deep inside is totally black...

Now the question, which one is which, the tip reads the Inter (low rpms) jet and deep inside the plug reads the Main jet or viceversa? or it doesnt work that way?

One of these years will get it right! :D

Oh and I keep the fuel pump screw one (1) turn out only so to save some fuel.... Am I wrong doing that?
